Well what can i say, the weather has been awfull and still is awfull only giving us a few days at sea.

April saw plnety of Pollack and Coailes on the inshore reefs with the usual suspects at anchor.

The start of may has been mostly tied up in the marina with the weather only breaking for 6 days at sea to date but being rewarded with a fair amount of fish from Pollack, Coalies, Codling, Wrasse and Mackeral on the drift and plenty of Huss, Dogs, Whiting, Coalies, Pouts, Poorcod and Ocotpus at anchor.

We got out this weekend and with the weather up and down the plan was Holyhead Bay to try for Pollack, Wrasse and the possiblility of a Hound or 2 , and we were rewarded with plenty of Pollack around 3-4lb with a couple 5-6lbers, more wrasse then we could hook and ofcourse the first Smouth-hound from Holyhead Bay in 2012.

Weather has gone bad again for the next few days so fingers crossed for this following weekend.

April - Weather putting a hold on the last 6 trips enabling us to get out to the wrecks once again.
Big tides this next weekend and a few reefs offshore to fish dependent on weather.

This last week has seen us concentrating on a few inshore marks with the larger tides and with dolphines makeing a show says only one thing, FISH!

Fishing at anchor is producing planty of Dogs, Huss, Dabs, Whiting, Pouts with Thornback ray, Spotty ray, Blonde ray, Codling, Coalies all making an apperence.

The many reefs around the North of the Island are showing plenty of Pollack, Coalies and wrasse to the 4-5lb mark with many to be had around 2/3lb.

Still a few spaces left for this upcoming weekend with a few available on a wrecking trip for Cod and Pollack.

Well with plenty of action these past 2 weeks on Spurdogs the weather has finally put an end to it all with gale force winds of up to 70mph, thus not allowing us to get out for our first wrecking trips of the year this week.

With the first Tope being caught on a neighboring boat this last weekend whilst we concentrated on Spurdog, With every drop producing sizes ranging from 4-16lb with the odd Huss thrown in certainly made a good day.

Mackeral are starting to make an apperence with water temperature increasing slowly.

Well the weather this last week has allowed us to head off around 20-30miles to fish some rough ground and leave the other boats fishing the shallow waters.

With the expectations of fishing into a wreck for Congers soon to be put on hold by the amount of marks on the sounder over the rough groung, which from the bottom to 30meters up could only be one thing SPURDOGS!
Thick shoals of spurdogs which surrounded the our area of fishing ment Congers had no chance.
With an average of 15-20 Spurdogs per angler over a 2 hour slack water and with no Dogfish and flat calm seas it has been pretty much fishing heaven.

Wrecking trips for 2012 are being very popular with only a few dates left.

Think it was my tenth trip with either Mel or Aaron and as usual an excellent day was had. The three apprehensive and novice teenagers on board were soon put compleyely at ease by Aaron, and were soon catching fish. Aaron as always kept the brews and advice coming thick and fast. Other skippers may be older and have flasher websites but thats not really what counts is it. We will be back again soon for trips 11, 12 and 13. Cant Wait

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Dave was a good day with plenty of smiles on the lads faces.

Fantastic trip with Aaron on Badboyz. Great sport all day with fish coming thick and fast. Bullhuss, Doggies, cod, whiting, rays, gurrnard, ling and flatties. Lost a fantastic Tope of around 60 to 70 lbs. Aaron could not have done more for us with regular brews, great food and found fish on every mark when all the other boats were struugling. Can't wait to book with him again.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Geoff was a very good day considering everyone else was struggling to even catch a fish, hope you had a safe journey and looking forward to next time. Cheers Aaron

  • 5-star Peter Argent (03/08/2011)

Aaron gave us a great day out. He is a very keen young skipper and was a great help to those on the boat who were less experienced, providing assistance and advise. He provided copious amounts of tea and coffee, a breakfast buttie and a great stew which we ate on the way back to port. I would, without doubt, use Aaron again. Very many thanks.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks very much Peter was a pleasure to have you and the lads on my boat.
Hope to see you again, Thanks Aaron

  • 5-star Michael Michael (23/04/2011)

Awesome trip with the most helpful crew one could hope for. Everything sorted with ease and lots of effort made to be sure of catching some fish. Everyone on board caught on this trip and it was a "slow" day by all accounts (saw some from another boat who blanked!). I would highly recommend this boat and crew to anyone and I will be going back. Great stuff and thanks to Aaron and Mel for looking after us so well.

Skippers Reponse: Much appreciated Michael, hope to see you again.
    Many thanks Aaron
