    Report on-board Sea Urchin III

    After a weeks family holiday, it was nice to get back out to sea today. It was a boat of mixed experience’s in terms of angling ability, but with a smaller tide, I hoped to get everyone a few fish from some inshore wrecks.

    With a SE breeze first thing, there was a bit of lift which made the fishing a bit tricky. This didn’t deter the fish or the anglers, as plenty of fish were caught each drift. Mainly Codling in the 3-5lb bracket, along with a raft of Pouting.

    After a couple of hours steady fishing and with everyone having a few already, we had a move to try some different wrecks. Some were better than others, but all produced fish. Don Wang took the biggest fish of the day at just under 10lb. It’s great to finally have some decent inshore sport. We just need the Mackerel to turn up and it’s full steam ahead.

    Ian Kellock was top rod today and caught consistently on every wreck, with some very tidy angling. Squid on bait traces with muppets dominated, with Hokkai’s taking a lot of Pouting and an odd Codling. All in all a lovely day out, thanks lads.
