The winter cod fishing has kicked into gear really early with some good catches of cod coming aboard from marks in the Solent on the smaller tides most fish are around the 4-7lb mark. & taking the usual squid /lug cocktail. but the odd nice Cod of up to 16lb turning up so very steady fishing Also nice to see a few reasonable whiting over the slack water period on baited feathers. On bigger tides the new grounds are again the favorite for general fishing area with some good size bass up 10lb coming up along with a good selection of rays. But a few less cod but that should improve over the next few months .
Best day so far 17 cod for micks pub group with the biggest one 10lb
