We had a last minute run out yesterday in the sun to stretch her legs. Some nice Codling made an appearance, and any amount of Pouting for sport. The vast majority of legal size but smaller stamp Codling went back, with about 20 better fish taken for the pan.

We had a spur of the moment run out yesterday; just myself, Mark and Smirf, so I could wet a line for once and burn off some Christmas turkey without having to look after anyone.
It started out with ice on deck, turned into a stunning sunrise with minimal wind and flat seas, and ended up a cracking sunset on the run home.
We fished the flood on anchor and found some lovely Codling pan fillers, including a few Pouting for sport. I made the coffee, Mark provided the homemade Kebab pizza, and Smirf whipped out the homemade Samosas and Spring Rolls on an absolutely glorious day.
Once the bucket was filled with Codling we headed out to try a few inner wrecks at slack water on the run back, which didn't produce anything noteworthy. -

We nipped out briefly yesterday evening to stock up the freezer; some absolutely perfect pan-sized Codling coming aboard pretty much a fish a drop proving quite chaotic on the ebb, up until slack water.
It went completely dead until the tide turned, and was much slower on the flood.
The Codling fell to cocktails made up of cart wings supplied by Billy’s Fishing Tackle , dirty squid, mackerel slivers we'd vac-packed from earlier in the season, and mussel. -

It was a windy, chilly, choppy run out recently with the Deaf Poland Fishing club.
The incredible sunrise and sunshine throughout the day took the edge off the chilly wind, and we managed to find lots of Scad, Coalies and Whiting to keep everyone busy, pretty much non-stop, until the run home. -

The lads had to work hard again this weekend with the massive tides and choppy conditions.
They managed to find some nice Codling, Pollock, Coalies, Haddock, strings of Scad and very small Ling, with any amount of Whiting and jumbo Mackerel still showing. -

It was a pleasure to welcome Eric and the guys aboard yesterday; third time lucky because of recent cancellations due to inclement weather.
We had to work hard with the 5.7 metre tide pushing relentlessly in the morning, but the lads still managed to find some nice Ling, Codling, Pollock, Haddock and any amount of Whiting and Mackerel in-between. -

The weather conditions made things a lot tougher than usual this weekend, with Saturday being a virtual write-off for the majority of it, and Sunday being a lot calmer for the most part, but with slow fishing.
The lads made the most of it with some nice Codling, Pollack, small Ling, Coalies and there's still plenty of Mackerel showing for now. -

It was a chilly, choppy, foggy run out with plenty of rain thrown in today for good measure.
The lads braved it well, and thankfully they were rewarded with great fishing; a solid stamp of Ling, Codling, Pollock, and any amount of Whiting and Mackerel came aboard throughout the day to keep them busy.
No matter where we went, which traces we used or what type of bait, the fish were coming over the gunwales every drift...very little effort or skill required on our part to find them, so it was a skippers dream! -

e had a fantastic run out today with no wind, flat seas and sunshine throughout.
The fishing was slow at times, but we found some nice Codling, Ling, small Pollock, chunky Coalies, a good number of Haddock, and of course seemingly endless Mackerel -

It was a pleasure to welcome back Mark, Smirf and the lads today.
We were subjected to fog, rain, wind, flat seas, choppy seas and sunshine throughout the day.
Between the slower periods we found some solid Codling, Pollock, Ling, Coalies and Mackerel; and the craic was electric throughout.
