Fishing Report by Peter Atkinson
on Dotty (Langstone Harbour, Hampshire)

Report on-board Dotty
Our bass fishing season got off to a cracking start last Saturday!
Returning anglers Nick, Ant, Matt and Greg coming down from Oxford for a lure fishing trip on Dotty. Bit lumpy in the morning with wind over tide to get to the marks but worth it, finding the birds 12 miles out produced plenty of bass straight away.
Perfect conditions in the afternoon meant great sport all day with many fish returned.
Well done guys you were awesome!! Here's a picture of Greg with one of the best despite being pretty ill most of the time!
Some great tides this week with a perfect forecast might do an individuals day if there's enough interest.View Boats Page

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin
on Galloper (Brightlingsea, Essex)

Report on-board Galloper
The smooth-hounds continue to show in fantastic numbers from brightlingsea. Saturdays trip saw Barry, mark and Steve have the boat to themselves. I gave them options of targeting rays, bass or hounds. The lads chose to go back on the hounds as they enjoy the sport and there's plenty of time to target bass in the coming months.
Our first mark produced a few hounds of a reasonable size but I wasn't happy so we had a short move and the next mark was busy from the first cast. The tide turned and numbers just improved throughout the day. There were still plenty of dogfish, a few whiting and a couple of pouting. Barry hooked a lovely ray which snapped his trace at the net and mark caught her boyfriend a short while later. I managed to get a couple of rods out too although things were a little hectic to say the least between making tea, netting and unhooking fish and the occasional tangle as a better fish made a mess of things. We fished two rods each although it was hard to keep both in the water at the same time. As the tide eased off we called it a day guessing we had around 20 hounds each. I was surprised when I counted up on the way home that we had 93! Not bad between 4 anglers! If I'd known then I would have been tempted to stay and go for 100! In all honesty it was hard to keep tabs amongst the chaos so there's every likelihood we had a few more than I marked down. We didn't have any double figure fish but a nice sporting stamp and busy fishing.
We have seen some fantastic numbers of fish lately in places but I am fortunate enough to have some great crews, a great boat and have far more experience than most skippers in the area.
I have spaces for groups and individuals over the next few weeks both midweek and weekends. Please contact me to check availability

Fishing Report by phillip browning
on Braveheart II (Wallasea Island, Essex)
Apr 2025 by phillip browning
Report on-board Braveheart II
Good numbers of decent bass aboard BRAVEHEARTII This last few weeks with between 25 and over 50 + in 6hrs. The crew above landed well in excess of 50 up to 55cm ....90% I estimate to be above the legal size limit..
At £390 for the whole boat i am finding that I'm getting a lot of 4 anglers groups as it is cost effective and they fish a couple of rods each but BRAVEHEARTII is licenced for up to 7 anglers but 6 works very nicely.
Please refer too my calendar for availability up till the end of may....I will upload june and July's when I get the chance as I'm so busy at the mo.
Look forward to welcoming you aboard
Manny thanks & tight lines

on Galloper (Brightlingsea, Essex)

Report on-board Galloper
The fishing has been very good lately. Baits aren't lasting long at all before something gets hold of them. Smooth-hounds have been making up most of our catches. The last few trips we have averaged over 30 per day with our best days producing over 50. We haven't seen any monsters but loads of scrappy little hounds to put a bend in the rods. I'm between there have been a few rays and bass, absolutely loads of dogfish with a few whiting and pouting too.
It's a great time to get out and get a bend in the rod with the bass numbers picking up now for those who want something for the table.
I have spaces this weekend and over the coming weeks if you want to join us please call 07956411528
