A steady picking of fish for yesterday’s mixed group working 4 or 5 wrecks to the South of the harbour.
Unfortunately the breeze pepped up from the NW and spoilt the drift for a few hours which also made the fishing harder with a 1.5 knot drift, but towards the second slack of the day we started clicking the fish again.
Chris Howcroft taking our best of the day with. Ling of 8lb 3oz
Cheers for now

A much better day at sea fish wise for the boys yesterday. Gathered the bait stocks on the 3 mile stream to start with and then off we set for a group of wrecks 15+ miles from port.
The first wreck kept us going for about an hour or so with around 15-20 fish boated.
The second one fished better where we managed to work it for the rest of the day.
Ling to just under 10lb and a good few Cod to around the 6lb mark. No prize winners today.
A very enjoyable day with good company. Skins and sowesters needed after lunch with the Bangladeshi rain storm that hit us for 3 hours solid!!! Still, at least the washing down was easier!!
Steve and Andy pictured with a few of their catch.
Uptiding Competition 6th - 21st November.
Cheers and tight lines

We managed to get back to sea yesterday after another short break for the weather.
This was the first day fishing in the September competition too.
A very slow day on the fish with around 30 fish boated but only 20 to keep. One or two nice fish though, the best of the day falling to Lee Bennett from West Yorkshire (pictured) a nice Ling of 13lbs which took the first daily prize of £50.00. Well done to him.
Andy Howard from Sheffield landing a nice Cod of 9lbs too which was his best if the day.
Keep a tight line,
Cheers

Last day at sea was on Tuesday this week.
We had a run to the “Wall” to try and get away from the heaviest of the tide and the usual chuck backs too.
Fishing wasn’t brilliant out there either but the lads managed a few over the slackest part of the tide.
My son Charlie is pictured with the best fish caught, a nice Ling of 11lb 6oz which was caught on a white shad
Taken yesterday, today and tomorrow off before the late Summer competition starts on Saturday.
We have just a couple of days left with room now in the event.
Cheers and tight lines,
Rich

With the making “spring” tides, the fishing yesterday was a little slow.
The mackerel fishing to start the day however was great sport. The lads gathered enough for the day’s bait stocks in about a minute!!
We dropped on a wreck inshore on the first slack water for just a handful of fish. As the tide sped away we worked the ground where the lads picked a dozen or so small fish with a handful of chuck backs.
A struggle to be fair but as the tide eased back for the second slack water we dropped on a wreck which we took some good fish off a couple of days ago.
A few throw back Ling but also a couple of lovely Cod to round the day off, the best going 10lbs.
Cheers for now and enjoy this great weather!

A dingaling day for the lads yesterday!
A steady fishing on a wreck just over 10 miles from port, with fish to 11 lbs.
We finished the day gathering some fresh mackerel to take home, the likes of which I haven’t seen before!
Strings of monsters to 2lbs which was great sport too!
Nigel Hall taking the best bag with 12 white fish and also the heaviest of the day.
Tight lines

Some newbies on board on yesterday’s trip.
John Gregg and 6 of his mates from Wakefield and Leeds joining us for the day.
Not a startling day by any stretch but one or two nice fish amongst their catch.
Best fish of the day, a lovely Cod of 14 lbs falling to Tommy, taken on the last wreck of the day just 2 miles from shore!
You never know where the bigger ones are gonna pop out!!
Cheers

A nice day on the water yesterday with my brother Martin and a few of his mates. A couple of other lads joined us on the trip too.
The morning started fairly slow with a sprinkling of keepers and a few throw backs.
We dropped on a wreck on slack water and it produced some nice fish for an hour or so.
Cod to 10lb and ling to 18lb, so all in all a fair picking for the lads at the end of the day.
Toby Johnson landing the best fish on board.
Still millions of mackerel about too!
The Uptiding Competition dates are 6th November to 21st November inc. Give me a bell if you fancy having a go in that. Tea and coffee will be available.
Cheers for now and keep a tight line.

Not much to report over the last couple of days.
The huge tides are really making things difficult at present.
Just to let you know that we are having a go in this years Uptiding Competition.
This event will run from November 6th to November 21st inc.
There will be some nice cash prizes up for grabs so if you fancy a go, give me a ring or drop me a text/mail.
There will be an entry fee of £5.00 per angler on the day. We will sail with a minimum of 3 anglers in this competition.
A regular angler of ours, Dave Sharp knows just how good the inshore anchor fishing can be. Last winter he landed a cracking Ling just shy of 15lbs in 60ft of water!
Great sport!!
Cheers for now

Comparatively speaking, yesterday’s fishing was rubbish compared to the previous day with the first lift in the tides.
We targeted a few wrecks in the morning for very little white fish ( still millions of mackerel though! )
In the afternoon we dropped on a few strips of rough ground and managed a half dozen fish.
A lovely day on the water nevertheless with great conditions and great company.
The lads managed around 20 Cod/Ling between them,
Oh, and 1 Pollack!
Cheers
Rich
