Another beautiful day at sea again yesterday but the fishing was anything but good again.
From the off we had a South/Southeasterly behind the ebb tide creating a drift so quick it made it difficult to hold the bottom.
Each of the 2 slack water periods gave us a bit of a picking and the lads ended up with around 30 fish between them for the day.
Bait fished the best again.
Cheers

Quite a big jump in the tide here at Whitby yesterday resulted in our catch rate dropping off from previous recent trips.
The boys worked really hard though and managed around 30 fish between them.
Regular angler with us, Paul from Bridlington having the best result with 8 codling and other smallest bits and bobs.
Another enjoyable day on the water despite the fishing being a bit slower.
All fish taken were on the baited rigs.
Cheers

A slow day for the lads yesterday with the South Easterly freshening throughout the day.
A couple of dozen fish for the boat that’s all.
Mixture of cod and ling.
Squid baited rigs doing the best. A few mackerel starting to show here and there too which is good news!
Cheers

Wreck hopping seems to be the order of the day at present on these neaps.
We touched on around half a dozen of them throughout yesterday and the lads picked a few fish off them all. No “biggies” but a nice few fish each for the lads.
Let’s all pray this fantastic weather continues till Xmas!
Cheers all and tight lines as ever.

Cracking weather for the boys yesterday and some great fishing for them too!
A bit of wreck hopping on these nice neap tides.
Bait taking everything yesterday. Squid and mackerel doing the job.
Darren Bradley taking the best cod of the day, a couple of ounces shy of 8lbs. Well done to him.
Cheers and tight lines,
Rich

After a couple of days off for miserable South Easterlies we made back to sea yesterday with a mixed group.
Fishing wasn’t startling for us but the lads all thoroughly enjoyed the day and the lovely weather and finished up with around 30 fish between them.
A small Wolf fish (our first of the year) was boated and safely returned too.
An odd day or too left with an odd place in the next 6 weeks.
Cheers

Yesterday we sailed out to the wall again as the fishing inside is still a bit naff with colouration in the water still.
40 or so keepers for the chaps with loads of Whiting too!
Unusual for out there.
Cheers and keep a tight line.

After the rubbish day we had on Friday we decided a run to the wall was in order yesterday.
The fishing wasn’t startling but the lads managed to gather around 30 fish for their efforts.
Codling to 5lb and a ling to around 6lb.
Squid baited rigs fishing the best.
This young lad showed the elders how to go on and also landed himself a nice double up!
Cheers

Talk about “after the Lord Mayor’s show!)
After the great fishing 2 and 3 weeks ago we returned back yesterday after a week off.
Completely crap is the way I’d describe it !!!
6 fish boated all day and 3 of those were chuck backs!
The last weeks Northerly swell on the big tides has scuppered us temporarily with the water clouding up again. Still, at least the sun shone and the sea was calm!
That’s why we call it fishing and not catching I guess and I’m a big believer in saying it as it is.
The current settled conditions will help clear it out quickly.
Cheers for now and hopefully today’s rods will bend more than they did yesterday LOL!!
Cheers
