    We managed to sneak a 6 hour trip in yesterday between bouts of bad weather,

    We got off to a slow start only taking a handful of fish from each of our first 3 marks, mark number 4 produced well and our last throwing out some nice fish,

    We finished our trip with around 60 codlings with throw backs on top of that, the best angler managing a very good bag of 20 codlings himself.

    Best baits remain to be black lug, unwashed squid and cart. All available on request if required.

    If you fancy a day with us the next gap in the weather is this coming sunday and monday trip prices are £5 per hour per person, hire tackle and bait extra.

    We snook a day in yesterday, with a gap in the weather here at Whitby.

    The lads Absolutely smashed it and had an awesome day boating well over 100 cod between the 4 of them, many sized fish returned to fight another day.

    Unwashed squid, black lug and cart wings doing the damage, all available on request.

    We've had an absolutely awesome few days here at Whitby on Mistress

    Friday we manged 65+ cod between 3 of us, saturday around 70 cod and today easily saw 100+ codlings boated,

    Most fish were 2-4lb but weve had cod and pollock to around 7lb. With many put back to fight another day.

    Unwashed squid and black lug doing most of damage although the lads today had cart and certainly boated plenty of fish.

    Good morning folks, the whitby sea anglers uptide festival is in full swing here at Whitby

    The first couple of days of the festival have seen some bumper catches of cod aboard Mistress with us seeing around 90 cod for the boat each day, many bags over 30lb in weight, were also leading the competition with very nice fish just 1/2 an ounce short of double figures, and a best bag of over 50lb!

    Crab cart has been the bait causing the most damage, but black lug and unwashed squid has also acounted for lots of fish.

    We have a few spaces left next week
    Wednesday 14th 9 places
    Thursday 15th 7 places
    Friday 16th 8 places
    Sunday 18th 2 places

    The Uptiding season is upon us here at Whitby.

    I get back from from my annual holiday on October 28th. I can see by the weather forecast theres a huge northerly due this week which will bring the uptiding on.

    As I've done the last 5 years, ill be offering night uptiding trips again. Boat is limited to 8 people, and 6 hour trips are offered at £30 per person.
    Bait can be supplied if required, black lug £3.50 a wrap, unwashed loligo squid £3.50 per lb and cart stick £24 per kilo wrapped into baits.

    Spaces available through November, unfortunately there are only 6 spaces left on the 18th November all other weekend dates are full. So I would imagine we'll be offering night trips on the weekends.

    Nov 1st and 2nd totally free,
    5th 10 places
    6th 9 places
    7th 8 places
    8th 3 places

    12th to 16th all empty with 10 places

    I only need 3 people minimum to sail.

    Morning guys, I've just updated my calendar with available spaces through November.

    We still have plenty of midweek spaces available on the uptide competition. 3rd to 18th November.

    Entry is £5 on top of your charter fee (£45)
    Ive limited it to 10 spaces on the boat again this year.

    Theres a huge £1000 up for grabs for 1st prize, then there also cash prizes for the top 10 heaviest Cod, heaviest bag of cod and heaviest any other species plus a special junior prize.

    Hi guys, finally we're taking our annual break, we're back on the 28th October when we will resume our charters 7 days a week.

    The winter uptide festival starts on the 3rd of November for 2 weeks entry is £5 per person on top of your charter.
    We still have plenty of mid week places available.
    We have best technology fitted to any charter boat in whitby and totally dominated the last uptide competition.

    Another good day on the Mistress with Rich, set off on a lovely morning from port first stop mackeral for bait, then up the coast to the first mark a cuople of fish taken, cod and ling, on to the next mark.
    We covered wrecks and rough ground for quite a busy day every body getting fish on shads , hokkias and bait and I got my usual bleggs (pouting) (one of these days I'll get the record) Rich as usual netting fish and giving advice everyone went home with plenty of fish.

    It's been a cracking week again here at Whitby on Mistress.

    The highlight has been a 21lb ling but we've also seen a few in the lower teens upto mid teens and another very big fish lost off again yesterday.
    It's the time of year where we start seeing the big ling starting to move.

    Plenty of cod also being caught by our anglers on a mixture of shads hokkai and bait rigs.

    We're still taking booking for our 2 hour tuesday evening slots for parents and children.

    We have a few spaces remaining this week,
    Wednesday 8th 5 places
    Thursday 9th 2 places
    Friday 10th 8 places.

    As predicted the fishing improved massively as the tides dipped here at Whitby on Mistress

    we've seen some excellent fishing this week with cod to just shy of double figures, ling to mid teens and pollock to just under 10lb, and plenty of mackerel too.

    The better anglers have been managing bags of 15-20 fish with throw backs.

    This week we're quite busy but we have Spaces on the following days,

    Thursday 26th - 3 places
    Monday 30th - 12 places
    Tuesday 31st - 12 places
    Thursday 2nd - 12 places
    Friday 3rd - 3 places.

    We only need 3 people minimum to sail,
