What a cracking break in the weather today, light winds, sun came out perfect conditions, headed south to good old Corton again bit further up this time. After chasing our tail all last week offshore with dissapointing cod catches the deep water proving very difficult, our inshore tactics paid off. The whiting were not as prolific as they have been better in size though and no flatties at all today very strange! We ended up with 30 codling biggest around four to five pound mark , in perfect prime condition , everybody on the boat caught, thanks to Chalky for helping out the less experienced anglers for the uptiding tuition, Mike first time on High Flyer, along with Andy hope to see you guys again,Matty the only man i know to catch a frozen herring, and Marty and Arek who drive hour and half to be with us its much appreciated. In all we had a brilliant day ,enjoyed the company, glad we had a result ,well done men and thank you. Jon.

Very foggy start today had to wait for clearance out. Headed out to Corton as our trip north over the weekend proved very dissapointing with the cod being bite shy. Fished the flood down to the slack with plenty of whiting few keepers nice to see. No cod till tide turned on the ebb ended up with 8 to 10 fish and more whiting had a half day leaving behind a flat calm sea totally different to the weekend! Thanks to Richard,Len,Barry and Peter for a most enjoyable day. Jon

Sat 4 th Feb. headed out to sanbank off South Cross Sand with slot in the morning weather , the finder was constantly full of baitfish on the surface, sprats and herring i suppose. The cod were not playing ball at all only flatties and whiting we tried every bait under the sun still no cod! Headed in due to wind picking up,after speaking to other charter boats off Corton not doing great we headed off to mark off Britania Pier ended up with our old friend the whiting. No codling at all North of Yarmouth on that day it wasnt to be. Thanks to John,Andy,Simon,Ben,Marty, Arek,Paul and Harry for putting up with the biting cold, lack of cod,and rough trip back, one of those days i would like to forget but we tried our best and i suppose thats fishing! Thanks again men . Jon.

Big thanks to the lads today who braved a constant north westerly 30 plus mile an hour all day! Boat spent most of its time at anchor sideways! Had to hide under Corton Cliffs again along with the other charters. Cauight few decent size whiting most of the shoals thinning out now. Codling to four pounds today not in the numbers today unlike the start of the week but i suppose thats fishing. Thanks to Matty for his first boat trip and being his 22nd birthday too! Also Steve seasoned angler with catch of a poor cod which unfortunately we didnt photo could have added another species to our list! Well done to Jeff and Andy for sticking the day out lets pray for a break in the weather. Cheers lads see you all soon. Jon.

Very windy trip today, killed our plans totally even though offshore ,big thanks to the lads for sticking with it .
Delighted to have young angler Luke with us and dad Andy, always a pleasure to educate youngsters ,think he enjoyed himself looking at the photos!. Big thanks to Paul for organizing the trip, along with Harry,Ian, barry, and John. Loads of fish on the finder especially midwater more than likely sprats and herring, lots of bait about, still believe we need a cold spell for a good run of cod. Fish on the day was codling to about 3lb and those pesky whitting ,not in abundance like they have been, very surprised no flatties though. Thanks again lads much appreciated hope the weathers kind to us next time. -

Another day hit by the strong winds fishing inshore ,big tide to contend with ,ended up south Corton, thanks to Julian and Lincoln Barnwell of Barnwell Print Aylsham Norfolk and friends Rob ,Andy and Simon for coming aboard High Flyer. Unfortunately the fish were limited today few keepers, constant fish on the screen probably sprats and herring in there millions hard to compete with. Happy birthday to Julian 165 today i believe! looks well on it put down to mainly strict diet of Nitrox and low alchol intake! Much appreciated men enjoyable day look forward to another date when weather is on our side.

Headed north today out of Gt Yarmouth before the sun was up slight north westerly breeze ,forcast wind increasing getting bored with Corton Cliffs so hit the winterton ridge resulting in small bass nice to see, they seem to be staying through the winter shame not in numbers. Pestered with the continous whitting not many sizable finding fresh herring baits sorts out the bigger fish. Decided to throw out couple of herring nets which resulted in feeding three seals and on hauling found we had filled up killing our trip having to head home and spent the rest of the afternoon taking fish out the nets! Thanks to Dave,Geof,Barry and others for their help .

Sat 3 Dec . Strong South Wests pushed us inside under Corton Cliffs. Day started well with numerous whitting few dogfish and odd dab. Moved further inshore after few hours not before having trouble with wire rope brought up on the anchor . Plagued with weed for about haf hour but soon went leaving a constant flow of whitting coming in all day. Few keepers not many ,afraid the cod were just not playing ball today! Big thanks to Richard Hodds for booking the boat along with guests John Kippen,Geof Bishop,Guy Bailey who caught his first fish and several others, welcome to the club Guy! Also Len Andrews and Doug Sturman and Mark Colley with son Josh first timers on High Flyer, thanks lads hope you enjoyed it.
