Well the last couple of months have seen some mixed fishing. Some exceedingly good days and some not so. In general good numbers of bass and hounds have been coming to the boat. Some nice specimen fish boated in amongst them. Plenty of high double figure hounds to 19 lb 9oz and nice bad to mid 7 lb range.

As for now the bass are still around and the Roker are starting to show in good numbers again. We've seen the first of the codling, which is a good sign for the winter fishing. Weekends from now until January are filling fast so get in quick so as not to be disappointed. There are a few individual spaces up for grabs on various dates from now until November.

Well June has seen the hounds arrive in force. Catches of 30 plus fish a day are the norm with the average fish size being 6 to 10 lb. So far this year we have had a lot of good double figure fish, lots of 15lbers a fair few in the 16lb bracket, a nice 17lb fish and the biggest of the year so far a cracking 19lb 9oz fish. With july now under way and traditionally our best month for the smoothounds, im expecting great things for the coming month. Usually the numbers of fish landed increases but the average size reduces slightly as the girls pup out. Catches of 70 plus fish in a single tide are not uncommon through july and august.

So far the spring has been kind to us. The weather has taken a turn for the better and the summer species are starting to show, not long now and the Bass and Hounds will be in full force. Skate fishing is the name of the game at the moment with catches of 20 to 30 fish common place, although on a good day such as yesterday 60 plus fish can be taken on a single tide. Yesterdays crew managed circa 65 fish, 40 plus of which swam off happily. No massive fish yesterday the biggest going about 8.5lb but the average stamp was about 5lb. The fish were quiet happily taking squid and herring baits nailed tight to the bottom.

well the codling have turned up in numbers as expected however the weather had other ideas on the odd occasion when the wind don't blow the fishing has been excellent plenty of codling between 2-4lb one group taking 65 in one trip!! still good numbers of roker and the higher than average sea temp should see an earlier start to the main skate fishing season

May bank holiday weekend was a mixed bag.

Saturdays forecast wasn't the greatest and considering it was predicted to blow 20mph, it was actually blowing 35mph. We still managed to find some fish, but the weather cut our day short.

Sunday was a better forecast and the offshore banks were the target. fishing wasn't fast and furious but steady and over the course of the day the species and numbers of fish racked up. schoolie bass, dabs, skate, codling, pouting and the ever present thames tiger shark (LSD).

Monday was a local trip and by far the best day for numbers of fish although the species list was down. Plenty of skate was the order of the day mainly good sized fish too in the 8 to 10 lb bracket, with the biggest of the day going 11.5lb. Most of the maids went back, but the boys were not so lucky. The crew went home with a good feed of fish

Wednesday and thursday this week have seen good numbers of cod and roker coming to the boat. The forecast not being at its best limited us slightly in the marks we could fish. Both days produced in excess of 10 codling to 4.5lb and roker to 10.5lb.
