Great day out with John Fu & the crew. Thanks for coming out on The Kraken.

    Report on-board Skylark

Finally a bit of a break in the winds today and we managed to get offshore. We started today with a 8 hour trip.

Fishing was pretty much instant from the start which each drift producing.

Today we even saw our heaviest ling aboard Skylark beaten again a cracking 24lb 10oz well done Paul Lester.

His daughter Donna also beat her own PB fish a ling of 15lb 8oz

Many other ling caught well over 10lb. We also had many codling around the 2lb to 5lb area, a Ballen wrasse, pouting a haddock and mackerel

We did manage to see a minke whale passing aswel.

As we had such a successful 8hr trip we took our 3 hour trip out to the wrecks as well. It was quite a steam for a 3hr trip but looking at the amount of good white fish caught it was definitely worth the gamble.

The majority of the anglers had never fished before and it didn't take them long before they became naturals. And they now have Personal best to try and beat next time.

    Heaviest fish was a 11lb 5oz ling

Overall the customers caught cod, ling a Pollock, pouting, a herring and a mackerel

    Report on-board JFK TWO

well the weather again overall has been pants and has been windy all week again
and make no mistake this has made the fishing at times very hard and very slow
however today was a lovely morning with very little wind. at last allowing us to do the wrecks
properly. and we picked away. managing 5 or 6 double figure lings cods to eight pounds pollack to 7lbs
    a few haddocks as well
then Dale says something big on here as he was holding on to his rod for dear life as the fish was diving
back to the wreck, for all it was worth then it popped up his PB a lovely ling just on 23lbs
    nice one Dale

    Report on-board Skylark

6 hour and 3 hour trips today

Fishing started off really well with shads and lures working well on the last of the flood tide picking odd mackerel up as well.

As the tide turned fishing slowed down as expected and as the ebb came through fishing was steady away.

Overall the customers got some nice fish to take home with everyone catching a few.

Always great to see kids enjoying angling

    Report on-board Skylark

8 hour trip today in fresh South westerly winds

Most of the trips we have been able to escape the winds in areas today we found a couple of spots but it was very limited to get shelter on the drift so we resorted to anchoring to start with them we fished on the drift for the majority of the day.

Fishing was difficult today with the conditions and when we opened land up a bit conditions were horrendous

Overall the customer did manage to get some good size Pollock, Ballen wrasse, some codling, and 30 to 40 mackerel.

Unfortunately we had a cancel today's 3 hour trip as we just couldn't seek shelter enough in a 3hr trip

    Report on-board Skylark

Unfortunately we haven't been out for a couple of days due to the strong winds from Storm Lillian

Today the winds had settled a bit and we managed to get a 8hr and 3hr trip out

The 8hr started off fairly slow with just mackerel coming over the rail as the tides increased we managed to get a few cod, Ballen wrasse and pouting.

We did get a lonely Pollock on the 8hr trip aswel but mackerel we quite sparce with only 40+ caught in total.

The 3 hour trip we managed to get two nice size Pollock around the 4lb area, a few small codling unfortunately we didn't see any mackerel this trip. But the customers did manage to get a glimpse of a bottle nose dolphin, 3 harbour porpoise feeding and also a few seals.

We did do a third trip as the sun was setting with the Skylark Family as we heard about dolphins traveling south from ravenscar.

As we left the harbour heading north we came across them in the North bay and ran back to the harbour steadily at 2 knots with the dolphins all around us. This was the skippers 4 year old daughters first time seeing them at sea.
