    Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3

Plaice dominate the catches and have been caught in good numbers with many good size fish being landed up to 3lb there are lots of small ones which bodes well for the future. Bream have been illusive this is down to the unseasonal low temperatures and frosts we are getting a few have been landed and as the weather warms up which coincides with big tides this should see them in numbers. On the banks we are getting a few Rays, congers, dogs, whiting and early Mackeral.

    Report on-board Duke IV

With water temperatures staying low it's the Skate that are keeping us busy with some good size females that we return and a few male fish that make the best eating. Loads of Doggies along with Whiting and Dabs making up the numbers. When the wind comes from the south things should change with more Bass and Smoothounds. Plenty of dates available including weekends. Best Skate to Sam from Ramsgate who won the money today with the best Skate around 8lb. These 2 fiesty males came along at once with both returned to fight another day.

  • 17/04/2021 Fishing Report by Andy Savage on Sea Urchin IIl (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

    Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl

What a brilliant day out today, with some top anglers. We had another run off, to get to some wrecks in clear water and the boys all got stuck straight in. Every drift saw a few fish come aboard.

Top rods on the day were Adi Smethurst and Andy Townsend. Andy helped himself to a plenty of Codling and three Ling around the 6lb mark. He persevered all day, lost gear in the wreck, but reaped the rewards with his persistence.

Adi kept us entertained all day with his stories and also fished like a star. He managed a fish a drift for the first couple of hours and had some quality Codling up to 5lb. Then he cagily announced that he had one that felt “ok”! A minute or so later he had a 7lb Pollock on board!!

The cracking Pollock was enough to win the daily prize in the Spring Festival and take the overall lead with a week to go. We finished the day on Sea Urchin with 41 fish between five anglers.

  • 17/04/2021 Fishing Report by Bruce Markham on Silver Gannet (Poole, Dorset)

17 Apr 2021 by Bruce Markham

    Report on-board Silver Gannet

Fished locally in Poole Bay today for Plaice. Three onboard and we landed 35 Plaice, but most were returned and we kept a few each for dinner tonight. Fabulous weather but still very cold for April with the NE winds. Off to the Shambles tomorrow to try and catch some Turbot & Brill. We had hoped to catch a Bream but don't think we will see them in Poole Bay until the next big tide.

Lead Us charters, Lowestoft fishing trips
    14 April at 10:18 ·
    Mission accomplished eventually
After a 20 mile steam to the grounds that had been producing some nice Spurdogs we settled into fishing which was hard going due to the strength of the tide, at slack water with only a few spotties and whiting being landed we upped sticks and headed to a mark that was producing by this time with the ebb running hard and wind picking up making fishing really difficult, as tide tide eased Kevin Southey landed a lovely fish of 18lb and a new PB for him shortly followed by another of 14lb. After a short time I was into a good fish another Spurdog approx 12lb which was unfortunately lost at the net. A hard day on Lead Us but some nice fish in the end

  • 14/04/2021 Fishing Report by Iain Barron on Brighton Lure Boat (Brighton, East Sussex)

14 Apr 2021 by Iain Barron

    Report on-board Brighton Lure Boat

We have had over the past 2 days completely different days, a lot of miles for a small reward and fewer miles for better results, to me the charter business is all about ensuring the client is given the best opportunities to catch, be it in 5 metres or 50 metres of water, the resulting feeling for them is the same, and target species achieved.
Today we ventured out and the target was Silvers, and this resulted, the good return of 28 in a 3-hour session, with an experienced pike fisherman aboard and accomplished chef to add into the mix we were in for fun-filled morning, and not forgetting the lemon drizzle cake Ryan produced halfway thru the session to boost our energy levels.
The SPJ (slow pitch jigging) took a while for them both to get the technique but both did well, Ryan was first in with good fish, followed by Lee, the drifts started to become difficult with wind against tide.
The Cheetha Marine boat soon got to grips and so did I with the right approach, the best drift produced 2 great fish (5 in total) yours truly with a 3.5lb and Ryan best fish of the day 6lb 10oz, Lee was getting to grips with the new style of fishing and hit into a good fish and landed, he said that’s his dinner sorted for the week, Ryan had another 3lb fish and that was our morning as the wind started to get up.
A great morning out with the banter and cake and silvers ta boot, think we see both back very soon.

  • 08/04/2021 Fishing Report by Iain Barron on Brighton Lure Boat (Brighton, East Sussex)

8 Apr 2021 by Iain Barron

    Report on-board Brighton Lure Boat

We had a venture out today into deep water, the Brighton Lure Boat with its superb handling and speed we were there in no time.
What’s new, SPJ, Slow Pitch Jiggin, looks like your Mackie bashing but we’re not. Using differently designed metal lures, It’s not rocket science just a different way to catch, and that we did, couple of wrecks were like the Sunday car boot at top of the marina bit congested!!
Malcolm was first in with a stunning fish new PB for Blurb , 10lb 9oz, next up yours truly with a 9lb plus fish.
Forecast looking good next week, few spaces left to get on board ring 07541 645488

  • 15/04/2021 Fishing Report by Andy Savage on Sea Urchin IIl (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

15 Apr 2021 by Andy Savage

    Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl

After a reasonable days' Uptiding (where we landed 32 Codling) on Wednesday, the lads were keen to have a run off today. It was a bit of a gamble as the water had been badly stirred up the day before. Pleased to say that it was a gamble that paid off. All the lads on board caught fish, with only a few throwbacks and plenty of 3-4lb Codling for the pan. Squid was by far the best bait of the day and Hokkai's baited with squid, also picked up a good number of fish.

Sea Urchin regular Ian Kellock is pictured here with one of the better fish of the day, a lovely 4.5lb Codling. Altogether, the lads caught thirty Codling and a couple of Pouting, which was a reasonable result for the day. With a Codling of just over 5lb leading the festival, it is all to play for. It only takes on decent fish to win the festival from one of the distant wrecks, hopefully it will come tomorrow on Sea Urchin.

    Be Lucky'

    Andy
