  Hi guys time for an update! The weather has dealt us a very poor hand this week, but between our last report and this one the fishing has come on tremendously!
  
  Weve seen some quality fish at anchor now theres a good bit of colour inside.
  
  Everyone has been getting good numbers of fish each trip, with what seems like thousands of small codlings in the 36-38cm range. Legal yes but ethically we always try not keep anything under 40cm unless gut hooked. So plenty of throw backs each trip.
  
  Best bait as always is black lug and squid cocktail.
  We've taken our 1st batch of black lug now so Bait Packs will be available again to our anglers, which will need to be pre ordered the night before the trip.
  
  At the minute long range i can see only monday available weather wise, we have 2 places available still. Its £55 per person.

  Thanks for the support over the Summer months, we have managed some very memorable trips and it is has been our pleasure to host old friends and new and share in your memories of your visit to Britain's Ocean City. Trish and I have worked very hard thru the COVID-19 restrictions to ensure we and our customers have stayed safe and we have still been offer you a level of customer service you have all come to expect aboard the Patricia Rose. Lot's of our new customers have opted for the half day exclusive package and enjoyed being spoilt with individual coaching, free rod hire and the usual refreshments and good banter. In September we tried the Skerries again and the fishing didn't live up to the expectation but it was still nice to watch a huge Bluefin Tuna breaching at the back of the boat over slack water and those that persisted were rewarded with some nice tasty Plaice. The dolphins and tuna have been pretty consistent on most trips and even turned up recently as we anchored up on the banks for our first annual Blonde Ray hunt at the back end of Sep. This was new to many of the anglers on the boat that day and watching their smiles after a 20 minute tussle with these fantastic sporting fish was pleasure enough for us. It demonstrates the fragility of the mark though, that as we arrived in our first chosen area, a commercial netter had lost his net over that mark and this ghost fishing tackle has been reported to Ghost Fishing for their removal. We will try again this next small set of tides and see what scraps we have been left behind for our sporting anglers who might take the odd male fish while choosing to return most after a photo and especially those big females. You gotta love a big female Blonde !
  
  We operate all year around but go slightly into tick over mode after half term and are very much at the mercy of the weather but it won't be long before we are up the river Cod hunting as we have picked up a few on the reefs while they wait for the water temperature to drop before coming up river. Finally a reminder to all that the tides are out for next year already and some of the better tides are already getting snapped up by clubs and whole boat bookings. We will of course continue to support our many individual anglers, but remember to book early to avoid disappointment. Tight Lines friends and fellow fisherman.

  Last trip out was last Tuesday.
  
  The fishing wasn't anything startling but with a lot of effort from all the lads we managed to boat around 25 fish for the day.
  
  Best fish on the day was a nice plump cod of 9lb 8oz caught by me! Makes a change!!!!!

  In between the current gales a small weather window presented itself today, the plan was to do a bit of Plaice fishing then Rays. We started along the beaches drifting towards Boscombe and this proved fruitless with only the occasional pout bothering the baits so we returned to the Swash channel and again very little but we did manage a small plaice so plan 2 came into action we anchored a bank and immediately had dogs and Rays this set the pattern for the afternoon with plenty more Rays, dogs, hounds and Gurnards coming aboard. Newly weds Russell and Karen outfished everyone landing most of the Rays. Chris Knight who is severely disabled was not to be outdone and landed a fine Undulate ray.
  Given the conditions today the fishing was very good .

  The uptiding here at Whitby has really come on with a bang some great sport for the boys the lads averaging between 50-60 cod per trip and loads more to come .
  
  Don’t forget it’s the £1000 1st prize uptiding downtiding competition for the heaviest cod . Starting on Saturday 7 th November till the 29 th inclusion .Plus £500 for the 2nd heaviest plus daily cash prizes as well .

  Windy day yesterday managed to get out very weedy on the 4 mile mark only got few whiting no bass at all which we expected in last of the strong tides. Forced inshore usual whiting few decent ones among them usual spotty dogs of all sizes ended up with 9 thornbacks which saved the day most of them returned . Most enjoyable day despite the weather thanks for washing down guys made better job than i do. All the best.

  The fishing remains nice and steady at the moment for the anglers on the Shy-Torque III and with the tides bearing off to the neaps now I'm hoping for a few better fish to start poking their noses out!!
  
  Most of the fish are coming from the ground on the 8 and 9 mile at the moment. The baited rigs doing the best.
  
  Mark from Northallerton landing the best fish yesterday. A nice ling of 16lb 13oz.

  Well despite the terrible loss of days out this year due to COVID when the day came when we could again venture out we found some good fishing with plenty smoothounds and some excellent Bass this year
  Now the winter is nearly here and the whiting shoals are starting to arrive and we can only hope for the elusive cod fingers crossed
  As I am now full time I can offer midweek trips also
  2021 diary is now open and starting to fill up so book early to get the best tides
