Fishing started off slow with a small picking of smaller Pollock and codling as the tide increased so did the fishing.
Overall the lads had a good amount of Pollock and mackerel to keep with plenty of sport with Ballen wrasse and dogfish throughout the day.
We did see a few codling, heaviest fish was a 7lb 12oz pollock
The 3 hour trip fished from the start with a good sign of mackerel showing in the late afternoon and some nice size Pollock also showing.
Tonight we had a very picturesque ride home with the sun setting behind the grand hotel and gannets and herring gulls diving behind the boat as we threw all the left over bait and guts over -

We started with a 6 hour trip this morning
Fishing was steady with mackerel and Pollock coming over the rail. We had a few quite periods in the day as we moved around but we managed to find a few fish
Heaviest Pollock today was 7lb
We then ran a 3 hour trip which was like a total different day with many Pollock making an appearance as well as a good amount of mackerel aswel.
Unfortunately we didn't see a cod or codling all day which was quite strange
After both trips we ran back out to be a casualty for the RNLI inshore boat to tow around for their training. -

It’s been an enjoyable but busy couple of weeks since I last did a report.

The first week was spent fishing in Norway with my good friend Ian Kellock. The fishing I experienced in Torsvag was just brilliant. I wasn’t bothered in the slightest about bait fishing for monsters and spent the majority of the time fishing with light lure rods and slow-pitch jigs.
We didn’t encounter anything enormous by Norwegian standards but the sport was excellent. I had hoped for a few nice Haddock (which I got) and a 20lb Coalie (which evaded me); so we’ve got unfinished business next year.
The real enjoyment came from exploring the massive areas of rough ground and working things out for ourselves. We both think and fish similarly, so it was a recipe for an epic week. Cheers Ian.
Arriving back in the U.K. I was straight back at it with three trips over Friday and the weekend. Unfortunately for the lads I had aboard, the fishing was a real struggle. There’s masses of feed on the ground and the fish just don’t seem to be dialled in to feeding. We picked up odd fish here and there, but unless you were after big-dog Mackerel, it was a tough gig.
Today was a Lure Fishing competition, with £150 for first place and £50 for second. No bait was allowed at all and the lads got stuck in with the lures all day. It wasn’t the easiest of fishing conditions and the more experienced lure anglers shone through in the end. Ian Kellock taking first place and Tony Firman second.
It’s looking like a couple of days off again with the current forecast, but hopefully things pick up with the next set of neap tides. Thanks to everyone who has made the trip over and fished hard. I really appreciate the support.
Cheers, AndyUPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Urchin IIl

Fishing is steady

The Lure fishing for bass has ramped up alot lately on general grounds I suspect the warmer settled conditions has helped as the fish seem pretty shallow.
The bait fishing is better on the bigger tides for targeting bass on worms & mackerel strips.
Its now that time of year when we start pushing further offshore for the Bass on the wrecks & outer banks.
I will be heading out there one the right tides until end of November.
These offshore trips are very popular & some of the best bassing you can experience in the area for sizes & numbers!! Exciting times ahead!
Hounds are fishing well on crab or rag baits the fish are very shallow but this is more fun as they fight like mad in the shallows.
Bonus They aren’t to far away so this means when its a bit blowy to chase the bass we can stop short in the sheltered shallow waters & target the hounds. There are a few nice bass & stingray on the hound grounds aswell.
Look forward to seeing everyone enjoying them selfs out there.
