Report on-board Brighton Lure Boat
Well we are up and running , first out today was Richard , who is learning the wonderful art of sea fishing , so far he has had the pleasure of of me showing him how to catch , Plaice and bream, and today we ventured out to the wind farm area, target was Pollock and any thing that a bit of rubber for breakfast!!
View Boats Page
We arrived around 6.45, by 7.15 we had our first fish around 6lb , the drift sog was around .4 which was good, then we had a mad second hour another 2 pollock and pout , and 2 drop offs.
Being the slightly experienced one of us , Mark, had massive pull down, and best fish of the day, within 5 minutes I was into a bass and everything seemed all good and dandy, then we get another boat join us, so instead of being social he stayed over the wreck caught nothing and basically ruined our morning of fun!!
Not to be put off we continued had a small
Pollock than that was it.
On way back the gulls we’re going mad , so we stopped off had another couple small bass off the top, and that was our 6 hour session over with,
All in all in all very pleasing on all fronts ,
Give us a go

Fishing Report by Malcolm Collins
on Just Mary (Christchurch, Dorset)

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, the trips continue aboard 'Just Mary' from Christchurch with a visit from well known South Coast Angler Steve Preddy being joined onboard by his two sons. We fished a local well known Bream holding reef in Poole Bay and really had to work hard for the fish. Initially we couldn't get through the Pouting for the Black Bream but perseverance and a bit of staying power paid off and so did retaining some of the Pouting for bait in the absence of any Mackerel. We landed some nice 'Blue Boys' Male Black Bream on the ebb before the slack water came. Over slack before the flood started Kiran Preddy hooked and landed a 4lb Turbot, perfect eating size at 45cm, on Bream gear of size 2 hook to paternoster trace on Pouting strip. This fish was quickly followed by a Female Undulate Ray of 15lb2oz by his Father Steve Preddy again on Bream gear and a size no.2 hook with Pouting strip as bait. The Undulate was a welcome bonus on light gear and a classic Daiwa Sea Hunter rod, quickly unhooked, weighed in a net bag on my new scales, photographed and released unharmed as these big Undulates are the breeding stock of future generations. A couple of personal best fish for the Anglers and a sign of things to come onboard for 'Just Mary', now we need the fresh Mackerel in decent numbers and we can target these fish rather than them being 'accidental' catches. We also landed our first red gurnard of the season just to prove that Summer is here. Now we need the weather to settle down and behave after the coming four days of blow and we can get going again for more of the same, thanks, Malc.

Report on-board Brigand
We are at the cross over period where it’s possible to catch everything from Bream and Plaice inshore to Brill, Tubrbot, Pollock and Cod Offshore - a spectacular time of year and the biggest decision is choosing which to catch...... a wonderful dilemma.
