Some great fishing onboard Skerry Belle Charterboat. The bass fishing is superb as it always is onboard (remember you can take 2 home per angler for the table.) We have seen thornbacks on the Goodwin's nudging 16lb. The hound fishing has also been excellent with over 20 a trip not uncommon and the offshore wrecks should now start producing many other varieties including gurnards, my favourite table fish. All our trips will be fishing offshore when weather allows as this will be where the better fishing is during the summer months. out today with our second prize winner scott
turned out another cracking day with practically non stop action. mostly pansized cod but a good few 4-6lbs cod
taken both on shads and baits, topped by darrens cod of over 10lbs

Hi All, we are working under strict rules, Risk Assessment and PPE, but we are working, maximum two onboard, but the possibility of four now since June 1st and Boris' speech, same household, close family, close friends, work colleagues, just £50 each own tackle, bait, etc or extra £10 for hire gear and bait at cost or bring your own. Now seven glorious days on the water in bright sunshine and flat calm seas and plenty of fish....as always with me ! What a day started off on the skate managed over 20 then decided to go and have a look for some silver bars, first drop on feathers a 6lb and a 7 lb bass so job done move to the hound spot Wayne Leadbetter wanted to try and beat his pb so we fished hard through the flood. I told him not to panic yet tide eased and a numerous doubles came out but then BANG a massive run and a 15 .5 lb female heavily pupped so quick weigh and photo and straight back in and 2 min later the special rod with special bait went off we knew this was the one after a long fight on light tackle we landed her 19 5 lb. Job done pb smashed for life methinks.

Another fine day for some free fishing for one of our regular punters. We steamed out to the chalk ledges off Thanet and baited up, a few smaller fish to start with and then the big girls came out to play.. Biggest of the day went to Steven Hayes with a magnificent beast of 19 lbds exactly. Your truly also weighed in with a decent 16lbder.

Hi
What some fantastic weather we have had during lockdown, I have seen so many people with ‘tans’ that previously would only have been gained abroad. I hope you are all well and nearing completion of all those jobs around the home you have never had time to do before. At last I have been able to return to sea 1st with the wife and the fishing was brilliant and in true form the wife caught more than me, last week I tried a trip with 1 person to see how to keep to the guidelines and it worked perfectly and on the back of this as from 1st June I am now operating 1 person trips which have had a tremendous response from my regulars and June has been snapped up. Hopefully we can increase the numbers and having worked out social distancing requirements and practicality I will be once allowed taking a maximum of 5 anglers who all know each other or families. If you would like a day out alone, with friends or family please call.
