  Report on-board Shy-Torque III

  A nice day on the water yesterday for the lads. Nigh on perfect conditions so we steamed directly to a wreck 18 miles off and remained there for the best part of the day.
  
  The lads picked steadily at the wreck until around 2pm when "Sammy" the seal decided to spoil things for us! Plenty of cod already for the lads though so we decided we'd let him get his dinner!
  
  Forecasts are looking dodgy now until mid week next week so gonna self isolate for a few days with some beer and wine!

  First time out since my Holidays with a good bunch of lads aboard we went to the wrecks on the twelve to eighteen mile marks, all the lads caught well, top man was Jason from Tony Barretts gang, after a slow start Tony watching Jason learnt the way to do it and came up with a triple on three muppets, squid was the top bait today but they were also falling to shads, a great day finishing up with fifty plus codlings, hope to see all you lads again.   Despite fresh SW winds the plaice fishing has really switched on the last few days.We are blessed with some excellent local fishing in 10 metres of water which means light tackle and a maximum 6oz of lead.
  Baits working well,Rag,Lug,Squid,Prawn,and Razor clams.

  Managed another trip on the Reefs and Banks which produced Blonde and Undulate Rays,Turbot,Bull Huss, Congers, Dogfish and Pouts. Phil Harrison landed his first ever Undulate Ray weighing 13Ib (pictured).

  Plenty of skate inshore and offshore 30-50 rays a trip all on fish baits its great fun with triple hook ups at times
  The First of the hounds are showing now had 5 last trip offshore only small ones but its a start, so that means the bass will be showing any time now aswel!! remember you need to bring crab or worm if you want other fish than a skate we are
  Still battling the weather at the moment getting offshore when we can but luckily the inshore fishing is busy and keeping the rods bending

  Spaces for short taster trips this weekend and parent and children days over holidays or enforced extra holidays !

  Over the past few days the wind has eventually allowed us to get out fishing, we have been targeting the following species on these trips (Blonde Rays, Thornback Rays, Spotted Rays, Small Eyed Rays, Cod, Congers, Whiting, Smoothound, Spurdog, Bull Huss). The Rays we have been catching have been well into double figures infact some blondes around 20lb. Bull Huss have been to 15lb these provide excellent sport for anglers of all abilities. Cod have been making regular appearances on trips and can be targeted using worm and squid baits. The methods that have been used are downtide and uptiding with mackerel, squid, blueys and worm baits presented on a pennel hook running ledger rigs.

  Lots of double figure thornbacks around and some nice early spring Bass, along with dogfish and whiting. The occasional codling and decent size dab. Luckily I have some very productive marks in the lea of the land for those days when winds are high.
