Report on-board Flamer IV
The first trip of the year was spent at anchor on a bank, the fishing was hectic with over 70 Conger eels caught and released along with numerous Whiting, Pout, Dogfish,Undulate Ray, Blonde Ray and a 25Ib Tope.
All caught on Mackerel and/or Squid baits.

Well December is always a bit hit and miss with the weather but we have managed a few trips. We've had a couple up the river but the Cod have eluded us so far. Mates have had more success from the shore so maybe time to dust off my Centurys. We were fortunate on 7 Dec to deliver a cracking mixed day for a whole boat booking. Most recently and to finish off the year we ran an individual places reef trip on Sat 28 Dec. We had anglers travelling as far as near Preston, way up North. This dedicated pair were rewarded were some hard fighting Pollock on light gear. Dale G had the best fish of the morning with a near 8lb fish. On the ebb the fish quality dropped off but stayed consistent around the 4-6lb mark mixed with a few clunky Whiting. Enough to keep everyone busy. Photo is of Zhou with a 16lb Pollack caught on our first trip out of Brighton Marina!
YELLOWFIN charter boat is now in BRIGHTON MARINA, we moved on the 17th December. So, 2020 will be a better year as we will not be stuck on Mud! We'll be wreck fishing for Pollack, Ling, Conger and Bass. This year you will be allowed to keep 2 BASS a day, as long as they're over 42cm this starts March until end of November. We'll be Plaice fishing in late February - March, then in April the Bream should start to arrive. We'll be fishing new wrecks and ground fishing spots, and some of the old ones that have given us some good fish. Turbot fishing in the Summer along with Mackerel trips, just as we did from Newhaven. Had a father son team on yesterday from Lowestoft and what a day they had .
Young Danny wanted his first cod and it wasn’t long before he got his wish a nice plump cod touching 6 lb he was over the moon .
At he end of the day they took a nice bag of fresh cod fillets back home perfect for after Christmas
All in all a good days sport for all the lads on Sea-Otter 2 the lads had between them 50-60 and plenty returned.

Just a quick heads up i only have 9 weekend dates remaining for the 2020 season and majority of Fridays have gone aswell!!
Remember i don’t work on bank holidays any more thats family time now !
Still plenty of midweek dates free throughout but if its a weekend you need get in quick.
I will be doing weekend evening / night trips during 2020 as they are very popular through spring and summer and it also makes sure we take full advantage of the weather and excellent fishing these trips i will advise as and when they come nearer the time so watch my social media and website for availability catch reports pictures and news

Plenty of nice fish still coming off the Goodwins. Good size thornbacks, bass, dabs and chance spurdogs. Inshore fishing is now quiet as the fresh water seems to of pushed the better fish offshore with the sw winds. January/February will be targeting early bass, hounds, cod, spurdogs, 8 miles off around the spit bouy.

News - The annual Winter species competition took place and was a very enjoyable day.Two sessions were done at anchor which produced numerous Congers, Whiting, Pouts, Dogfish along with Smooth Hounds, Undulate Ray, Thornback Ray and Spotted Ray.
Results - Winner- Rick Hawkins 208 points, Runner Up - Ian Youngs 178 ponts, 3rd place - Robin Amor 167, Denise Youngs won the Best lady's prize and the Weakest Link prize with 86 points.
Winter Reef/Bank Trips - are on offer in January for species like Whiting, Rays, Spur Dogs etc and of course that elusive Cod.
