wed 15th may
what a lovely day to be a float, picked a few fish up from the wrecks, but did better on the closer wrecks and hard ground. with the best angler taking 10 fish mostly on prawns.
ended up with around 35 fish mostly cod. a couple of ling odd pollack.

Sorry for this, just another party that lets us skippers down His name is PETER from south MIMMS coaches he booked a trip on the 30th of April and since then I have been trying to get a deposit sent down bearing in mind it only covers the bait I have never heard so many excuses why it was not paid right up till noon today when he texted to cancel me for this Saturday coming , but as I said before I will name and shame them so his name is Peter from South Mimms coaches phone number ( 07941070796 ) so be aware my fellow skippers don't get shit on from people who are not prepared to either go fishing or give a decent excuse for letting people down .Sorry for the rant but I can bear losing a days work but not loose bait money in the way of a deposit

A morning session at anchor on a Bank produced some fine Blonde Rays which gave the anglers a right old tug on their tackle.
The successful bait was calamari squid and mackerel cocktails on pennel rigs of Sakuma Manta hooks.
Pictured is Bill Oliver with the 16Ib Blonde Ray he caught which set a new Personal Best fior Bill. The Ray was retuned alive to grow bigger.

Went out Mon 13th May 2019 with DXB Water Company headed out to deeper water fished in just over 100ft produced couple of thornbacks best one just over 8.lb. Small smoothounds today nice to see them getting thicker hopefully big ones following shortly, plenty of spotty dogs all day along with the whiting. No bass today tide was probably bit weak for them . Not bad day for a light easterly wind to be honest. Big thanks to Derek for organising the trip Jeff pictured here was the winner today spend your pound wisely!!!! Many thanks looking forward to next one. Jon (High Flyer 2)

Spent most of the day working the wrecks on the 5 mile run on Sunday. The water was very clear indeed which was great to see. However, most of the fish fell to the baited rigs. Squid doing the best. Janine Potts showing the lads how to go on with the best cod of the day at 8 lbs. Final count for the day was 33 cod to 8 lbs and 10 ling to 8 lbs.

Pictured is Denise Youngs with the 20Ib Blonde Ray she caught, Denise had a right struggle trying to get the Ray off the bottom on her 15/20Ib class rod. The Ray was retuned alive to grow bigger.

I only managed a few photos today, its was a steady day, best angler kept a dozen with a couple of throw backs.
A count up at the end of the day saw around 50 keepers for our efforts.
We have spaces all week, we only need 3 minimum to sail.
