A day of 2 halves skate,skate and more skate to begin with then we moved to the chalk ledges and saw some amazing hounds onboard. Its not very often the punters tell you they have caught to much can we go home and have a pint please. Plenty of May weed about to alarm non seaside people !! Picture is Stuart Young with a 10.5 hound.

Joe Blackham joined us for the second of his 3 day block trips of the year on Monday.
We were working the sunken oil rig at anchor for a change hoping for something a bit different. Sadly the water was very cloudy with a strong algae bloom showing on all lines dropped.
The lads did catch, but nothing exciting dragged out of it. Haddock, Ling , Cod, Dab, Flounder, Gurnard, Whiting and other bits too so a really nice couple of days for the species.
The lads are booked on another 3 day'er in October. Looking forward to that session.

Took four lads from Preston out today forecast was bad but has they were here we decided to give it a go, weather was a bit bad to start with but eased as the tide slowed all fished well and ended up with around 20 codling to keep as well as a few through backs and poutings and Whiting, good set of lads who say they will return.

Left the Tyne around 5pm and the weather was that nice it was straight to the wrecks, picking a few fish on each wreck but very slow all things considering so we had the last hour of our evening trip on the ground, again a few picked up but very quiet. Each angler had fish which was nice and the biggest fell to crewman Tony, a cod of around 5lb.......all in all a cracking night just a shame the fish didn't play catch!!

The pollock are showing on the reefs and rough ground now which is good news because it’s easier on the angler than wreck fishing (less tackle loss lol) and only short distance from the harbour. The bass are here as well . Plenty of individual spaces and whole availability
