Report on-board Mistress
Another good day on the wrecks here at whitby, it's not been hard and fast but we've picked away steady all day getting a mix of cod, Pollock and ling.
The lads amassed over 80 fish today between them. Best angler getting 14.
The weather is turning now for a few days, but we'll be picking up trips again as soon as its fit to sail,

Another cracker on the wrecks again today, with the cod smashing the shads!
Biggest cod around 8lb, numerous anglers getting double figure bags.
Spaces still available tomorrow, with a good forecast and small tides, the weather changes after tomorrow for a few days.

13 year old Alex Canham did really well on a Wreck trip catching his first ever Ling which weighed 11Ib 8oz Ling and a 7Ib 4oz Pollack which broke his previous Personal Best. Alex also caught several other Pollack and a Cod on the same trip.

Lady Ann of Ramsgate found the hounds and it looks like they have turned up in numbers now. Some good fishing to be had, Skipper Dick had a hectic day on deck with over 20 Smoothounds coming on board.

13 year old Alex Canham did really well catching two firsts and setting three personal bests. He caught a 4Ib 4oz Tub Gurnard and an 11Ib 8oz Ling both firsts for Alex and a 7Ib 4oz Pollack which broke his previous Personal Best. Alex is pictured wuith his 4Ib 4oz Tub Gurnard.

The first competition of the year has just finished today here at Whitby. Bad weather plaguing us for the best part with only 5 days out of the 16 made to sea.
We struggled to find the festival winner on our first few trips, but yesterday we managed to click some nicer fish on a wreck 12 miles North of the harbour.
Pete Tamms from Leeds boating some nice cod to just short of 6 lbs. Gordon Yates from Blackburn also having a good day with cod to 8 lbs, but my old mate Nigel Hall taking the sweep on the boat with a cracking catch including the competition winner, a cracking pollack of 12 lb 6 oz. Most of the fish fell to the bait including Nigel's pollack.
These 3 lads took first second and 3rd places on the day yesterday with Nigel bagging the £1050.00 in cash, first prize !!
Thanks to all who fished the event.
We still have room on some of the days in the summer competition where we will trying to bag our 2nd win of the year!

managed a day out weather still a little crappy and water dirty, however we did manage around 35 fish for the day with the best topping 10.5lbs best angler on the day darren
taken 15 for himself
most to squid baited daylites etc but a few falling to shads. all in all a enjoyable day fishing
signs of improving fishing. places this wed and coming bank holiday sunday dstill available
