Conditions were not great with some strong winds but it was just fishable tooked under the cliffs.
Had a few fish around 4 to 5lb but most were codlings which were legal size but the anglers prefered to return them as well as the most dogfish ive ever seen on a trip over 25 caught in todays trip.
Water clarity looks perfect for uptiding now so hopefully see a better of stamp of fish showing soon if weather allows. -

Report on-board Duke IV
The fishing is improving by the day off Ramsgate with more Thornback Ray's being caught. Joy has landed 3 today while hubby Nick is keeping the Doggies busy. The water has cleared to a fine colour bringing in more Smoothound and Bass. Won't be long before the Bass shoal chasing the large shoals of herring currently off Deal. Plenty of dates available for groups or individuals so give me a call and come and enjoy the fishing. Pic shows Joy with her best Skate today, a 9lb female she very sportingly released.

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Just a quick update managed to get out Sat with lads off the USA base fishing bit slow to start bit of a strange day with no seagulls or seals was like they knew something! We lost the sunday with storm Frier looming so nothing to report from that. Ended up with a few whiting as expected the first spotty dog of the season(returned) as pictured here with Bobby i was pleased to see it i must admit! Few dabs came in of all sizes when we moved onto the mud in all not a brilliant day but enjoyable, no codling today not so sure its going to happen for us here in Norfolk, just waiting for the thornbacks to make a show now as there the next quarry. Will keep you posted losing tomorrow 55mph southerlys wed 6th March so next trip Sat 9th March see what happens. All best . Jon (High Flyer)

Philip Butler, after taking Phil fishing last week and posting a report which included him I was informed that on that date it was his 86th birthday and the one thing he wanted was to catch a specimen size fish, well congratulations on reaching such a fine age and still fishing and congratulations again on catching a specimen Spurdog.

February 2019

We managed to get out 11 days in February which isn't too bad at all, Inshore fishing has been getting better, we've had a great winter inshore, and now that the water temp is on its way up again the spring species seem to be feeding better with lots of Smoothounds in small to medium size range being caught in the later half of February, this along with 4 different species of Ray, Bull Huss, Conger, Whiting, Ballan and Cuckoo wrasse and the obligatory Pout and Dogfish make for a god fun days fishing inshore and has made for some very entertaining species fishing, the Reef Pollack are getting to a decent size now as well with fish over 10lb being caught on the inshore reefs in the last week of February, great fun on light gear. The fishing Offshore and to the east at anchor has been steady with Blonde Rays being caught over 20lb on the banks, the odd Spurdog, Ling and Undulate Ray and lots of Huss and Conger on the rough ground and reefs. Wrecking also improved a lot mid February, but a visit from the netters slowed the fishing down toward the end of the month although I still managed to find enough fish to keep everyone happy but nothing big with the best Pollack of the month at 13lb.
There are still weekend individuals spaces on a few dates in March, mostly offshore anchored trips. -
