  We managed to sneak a couple of trips in on Saturday here at Whitby.
  
  We got onto a few spots that started out well with the rods bounching only for seals to show up and start stealing fish. Everyone managed a few fish with a few better ones coming over gunnels too. Managing around 40 fish each trip.
  
  Best baits we're black lug and unwashed squid.
  
  It looks like theres a window in the weather on tuesday and wednesday this week and by the looks of it, that will be it for at least a week.
  
  We only need a minimum of 3 people to sail on on our longer trip of 9 hours, for £45 per person, or
  4 people on the shorter 7 hour trip at £30 per person.
  If you fancy a night trip due to work commitments, I can put a 6 hour night trip in the dark, together for £30 per person.
  
  Bait and hire tackle can provided at cost if required.

  Nearly end of the month in this new year of 2019 been a bit testing with the weather and lack of cod here on the east coast. We still been relying on the whitting not bothered with any pictures as who wants to see strings of them? Bit of a change with some nice dabs turning up all sizes so been bashing them on the bank on slack water for a change . Have only managed one trip offshore on the 12 mile bank could only manage decent size whitting bit of a disappointment but hoping if this cold stays with us the codling could show shortly and we all be back to normal! Looking forward bookings already gone for weekends right through to december website up to date soon as deposits are paid unfortunately insisting on it from now due to so many letdowns in previous years its become ridiculous. Deposits are fully refundable on bad weather or good excuses not ive had too much to drink the night before and wont bother to turn up, you cant run a business like that. Will be doing some special trips this year keep eye for them, plus secured a deal with local commercial vessel fresh supply of hermits and prawns top quality baits for the smoothies and skate looking forward to spring. Lost this weekend of Sat 26th/Sun27th with 55mph winds so cancelled trips as expected will see if we can get out midweek .   we managed to get a trip in on Saturday 26th and had 10 Lithuanians aboard . we headed south onto the uptiding grounds and once the flood tide was away we picked away steady over the duration of the trip with around 30 codlings to the boat. The lads were using fresh live lug and squid. The seals have been a bit of nuisance of late so were constantly on the move. We currently in the midst of 60mph north westerly winds so were stuck in port and hope to be out for Tuesday 29th jan as things look to settle for then. To get booked on one of our trips and not to forget the spring and summer wcsa festivals with some great prize money on offer. Give us a call

  Another day on the cod yesterday Saturday for the boys on Sea-Otter 2 a nice mild day and sea conditions very favourable the fishing was steady the lads had been uptiding before so once we got going some nice fish coming aboard the weather doesn’t look to bad this week horrendous today but by Tuesday we should be ok spaces available to hit the cod so give me a bell on 07748705695 .

  On the cod again yesterday the lads all got a nice few fish blown off today but tomorrow looks ok then winter blasting in againfrom the north which is an onshore wind here at Whitby but as usual after a good northerly blow the uprising fishes very well in the coloured water so if you want to get in on the cod action give me ring now to book your place catch rates on Sea-Otter2 are second to non .
