Report on-board Duke IV
It's getting colder but the fishing is still good off Ramsgate with plenty of Skate still around along with Whiting and the ever present Doggies. There are a few Cod being caught in the nets so they are out there. Fades group came out today on Duke lV and had Skate along with Doggies and Whiting with smiles all round they had a good day. Still space available over the New year so give me a call and shake off the winter blues.

Some lovely winter cod fishing for our group of Polish boys this week.
We had a great day weather wise too so we pushed out to a couple of wrecks on the 18 mile range. Both wrecks producing nicely with cod and ling falling to the squid, but the jellies taking more of the cod.
A good indication that the water is nice and clear still.
Nothing big, but with cod to around 6 lbs a great days sport for the lads.

Discovery so far this winter
The Winter Fishing started in October the Mersey was full of Thornback Rays we had plenty of double figure Thornback Rays
Then the Whiting arrived on Mass which was a blessing at first but as the cod came in the whiting destroyed good baits we still had some great days between 25 and 30 cod being are best day we had to wait until November for Notingham Specimen fishing club to come out with us to get our first double figure Cod with Andy lempick landing a 10lbs12oz Cod. We managed a 6lbs plus Cod the following day and then we had a Daiwa day where we take some Daiwa tackle dealers out usually with a bit of a pool Nick Daiwas Rep took this with a5lbs plus Cod .fishing has had a bit of a lull this week with the huge amount of freshwater deposited into the river but we still had 15 cod yesterday dates available for Jan 2019 3,4,14,17,18th full boat 27th of Jan Sunday full boat

Skerry Belle is now taking bookings for 2019, again our angling will be concentrated on the early bass fishing that we get in our waters. These can be really big fish, with double figure fish being caught on the best tides. The thornback ray fishing will really kick off as the fish move inshore to spawn, 40-50 fish a trip is not uncommon, there will always be a chance of a big cod as they Feed on the herring and the channel whiting should be making the 2lb bracket. Early season hounds should be making an appearance as the water temperature is still high. The uptiding at whitby continues to show good numbers of cod and now with more colour in the water were seeing a slightly better stamp of fish. bait of choice still been blacks and squid. trips are averaging between 60 to 100 cod . We will continue uptiding right into early next year and hope to get as many days at sea as possible weather permitting. Tight lines for now !!!

We managed to squeeze another day in yesterday with a mixed group of lads.
The fishing remains fairly good on the offshore marks with a nice number of fish for each and everyone on board. Fish taken on both the artificials and the baited rigs.
Looking like we will get out again tomorrow if the forecast stays as predicted where we have room for 4 or 5 anglers. Individuals as always are most welcome.
