    Report on-board Galloper

The summer fishing is now in full swing. The other day we started off catching bass on lures, then at anchor for the best of the tide and back on the lures on the way home. Rick was top rod with the anchored fishing with some nice hounds up the 13lb and a lovely bass. There were also whiting, dogfish, pouting, dabs and tope caught. All in all a pretty typical general trip for the time of year with pleasant weather and some decent fish.
I have spaces for tope trips and availability for full boat bookings and individual spaces over the next few weeks so please get in touch to join us. Not all dates advertised

  • 04/06/2024 Fishing Report by Steve Green on Brigand (Brighton, East Sussex)

4 Jun 2024 by Steve Green

    Report on-board Brigand

After a short break in Norway wrestling Halibut & Wolffish (more on that in a later post) and a couple of days putting smiles on faces inshore Bream fishing we headed to our happy place today - the Offhsore wrecks.
Slated as Pollock & Cod trip as this is the time of year we generally see the Cod appearing and it didn't disappoint. Some fantastic double figure Pollock along with a box full of good table fish in the 4-7lb range and the Cod also were obliging!
    Species boated today;

    Cod
    Coalfish
    Pollock
    Wrasse
    Mackerel
    Tub Gurnard
    Launce
    Dogfish
    Pouting .... of course!

A beautiful day to be out on the Ocean on flat calm seas and fishing in T shirts at 0800hrs - really felt like Summer has arrived.
Great fishing next to Alex Brown and enjoying a head to head tussle with a fish a drift each until the arms gave in and we realised there was a couple of hours filleting ahead!
If you would like to join us for some great wrecking in the coming weeks you can view availability on our website calendar.
    Best wishes

  • 02/06/2024 Fishing Report by Geoff Sharp on Sweet William (Tyne, Tyne and Wear)

2 Jun 2024 by Geoff Sharp

    Report on-board Sweet William

Thanks to Collin for organising a short run out for a few hours in the sun this morning!
We didn't stray too far from the piers and found any amount of smaller Ling, some decent Codling, Mackerel, Wrasse, Pouting, Whiting, and small Coalies etc. We were even escorted by Dolphins first thing this morning which is always great to see.
Everyone will definitely be eating well tonight; the lads guessed we probably had well over 100 throw backs, and our fair share of sunburn!

29 May 2024 by Geoff Sharp

    Report on-board Sweet William

It was another cracking run out today, but the offshore wind scuppered the plans for the majority of it.
We stuck inside on the inner grounds and steadily picked away on smaller Codling, Ling, Coalies, Whiting, Pouting, Mackerel and even a Haddock.
When the wind subsided we made the most of the last 20 minutes, and David found a solid stamp Codling on the last drop of the day.
Massive thanks to John, Andreas and the lads for travelling up from Lancaster, Liverpool and Birmingham for a run out!

    Report on-board Sweet William

Massive thanks to Will for organising a run out celebrating his birthday today.
We had interchangeable weather all day, but for the most part it was sunny with flat seas.
We stopped for some Mackerel in the morning for both bait and the pan, and then targeted Codling for the rest of the day.

26 May 2024 by Geoff Sharp

    Report on-board Sweet William

Huge thanks to the guys who arrived in a party from Northampton today. We set out to very choppy, chilly, windy and wet conditions.
Thankfully it settled down and we stopped to let the lads fill their buckets with mackerel in the morning, whilst also picking up Coalies, Whiting, small Pollack and Pouting.
Once they'd had their fill with mackerel, we targeted Codling and a seemingly never-ending stream of lovely clean fish came aboard until the very last drop of the day. Peter won the sweep with a fantastic 16lb12oz Ling.

    Report on-board Sweet William

Massive thanks to John for organising a run out today. We headed out this morning to sunny, calm conditions and found the mackerel immediately on the first stop.
We found a great stamp of Codling, Ling, and plenty of Whiting, Coalies and Pouting for sport.
Not only did John organise the day, but he also claimed the sweep with a lovely clean 10lb8oz sprag!

    Report on-board Sweet William

Another misty start with choppy seas this morning, which thankfully settled nicely as the day progressed.
Massive thanks to the lads for getting stuck in all day, rewarded with a fantastic stamp of Codling and Ling for their efforts, and plenty of Wrasse, Pouting, Coalies and Whiting for sport.

12 May 2024 by Geoff Sharp

    Report on-board Sweet William

It was a foggy and choppy start to the day, with some sunshine making an appearance after lunch, followed by a choppy run home.
The lads braved it well with great banter and maximum effort all day, resulting in some cracking fish for the pan!
