    At last some lovely weather and manged to get out wrecking and have a look for Ling. Some nice Ling were caught on Squid and/or Mackerel baits and on lures. Two personal bests were caught with Colin Johnson catching a Ling weighing 23Ib15oz and not far behind was John Wensley with a Ling weighing 23Ib 13oz. We also caught some Pollack when the tide was too fast for the Ling. Colin Johnson is pictured with his 23Ib 15oz PB Ling.

    As of most boats in the Thames area plenty of skate are coming aboard plus some good whiting still Also we are seeing the odd small Smoothound and Tope so all things are looking up roll on the hounds and our allocation of bass lol till our next report good fishing and tight lines

    SPUR'S R'US -
    We had some excellent Spurdog fishing with plenty of specimen double figure fish caught and Personal Bests achieved on squid and mackerel cocktail baits presented on pennel rigs of Sakuma Manta hooks. All the Spurs were returned alive. Pictured is Jim Morrison with his Personal Best Spurdog weighing 19Ib 8oz, Jim won thr Flamer IV Catch of the Day trophy.

    The skate have arrived in biblical numbers, takes less than 30 mins to get to fishing grounds and pretty much non stop fish.
    If weather remains kind the bass and hounds will be around shortly.
    I have a pretty full diary but have a couple of walk on spaces and whole boat Easter weekend (Sunday) if you fancy a day at sea.

    Well been a hard winters fishing with the lack of cod thank god the whiting have been here to fill in the gap pain at times but least we were catching. There still about but change in the weather with it warming up our friends the spotty dogs have shown up makes a nice change from one pest to another! getting the odd spring codling these last few days time will tell if we get a run or not. Caught first small smoothound today nice to see early for us by about a month but no skate as yet. Report of vessel just up from us having one today so hoping to see a showing soon. Weather allowing will be targeting the skate on the banks this week spaces this wed 5th April still if anyone fancies it please ring or text. Give thought to any future trips your planning as dates are starting to go and especially weekend slots. Specialised trips as bass or tope most popular dont forget our evening sessions as well. I will always make up a trip so if only a few of you want to go on a particular day no probs will advertise to cover costs by getting few more places sold.     sunday april 2nd
    off round the wrecks, signs of some improvement.
    taking a few cod and ling even though the water is still a little green.
    we did take a few fish on the shads. as well as the baits,
    mark and john with lings just into double figures

    Great day today with some top fellas total of 43 thornback rays biggest of 14 lb a dozen dogfish and loads of whiting weather was absolutly beautiful couldn't of asked for better weather and good people

    Bream
    The start of April saw the 1st of the Bream being caught , yesterday the fish were very finicky and we missed several but today with better conditions they were feeding. The best of the fish were in the 1lb 1/2 mark and very good sport all but 2 deeply hooked fish were returned. Plenty of bream trips coming up so get in quick and book

    hello all had a run out on the jean k yesterday 1st april 2017,on getting aboard kev the skipper said were going straight out to what they call the wall 25miles off Whitby, first drop after arriving couple of codling kev tried all day searching for the fish after a realy pleasant days fishing the boat over all took about forty cod a couple of ling and pollock it turned out to be the right decision to go far out as on our return the jean k took 2nd and 3rd in the days heaviest fish with a 7lb and a 6.5lb cod, all in all a realy good start to the wreck fishing season, cheers kevin, gordon
