Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
Yes Troy as far as I am aware The Vanishing Point-2 was the only boat to sail yesterday morning Mate.
The advantage of such a big catamaran like Vanishing Point is at 51 foot long you have the water line length, and of course her pedigree as a wind farm service vessel saw her working in 3 meter sea’s in the Irish sea so the weather yesterday was never going to be a problem to us .
It was nice to see you boys join up with Mark Smith, his party are very much like yours Troy good anglers easy going, and fish for what’s there, and you certainly pulled out some nice Thornbacks yesterday, and the usual banter to go with it.
It was never going to be 60 mph which is what some people were doom and glooming about, I blame XC weather forecast I don’t know why anyone bothers to look at it I think they only have one colour….RED, for most of the day as my forecast predicted the wind was 18 to 20 mph SW and on rare occasions tipped the wind machine gauge to 40 mph during the sort squall’s that came through with a brief shower then settled down again even then the boat was still comfortable and we carried on catching nice fish..!! well done lads you all fished well and nice to hear you boys saying if one or the other were short on numbers in the future to let each other know and you would team up once again, great comradery, that’s what me and Nicola try to promote on the boat….. See you next month Troy & Tony…….tight Lines..!!View Boats Page

Fishing Report by Nick Gough
on Skylark (Scarborough, North Yorkshire)

Report on-board Skylark
Another good day uptiding on the fish with some belters coming out
Not the ideal conditions with a small amount of swell allday.
The lads managed to catch some belting cod around the 6 to 8lb area. With best bait been dirty Squid/ blacks and cart.
Heaviest fish today was a plump Cod caught by Ben weighing 14lb 8oz
For the past few weeks we have seen plenty of small codling around 25 to 30cm but today we only saw fish well over 40cm which is great to see plenty of spawning fishing coming inshore.

Report on-board Skylark
Photos from todays 6 Hour trip
Haven't done a catch report for a month or so as fishing has been rather slow. But after today's trip it looks like fishing has finally picked up with most of the lads managing to catch a good few fish a piece.
Best fish today was just under 10lb and in total the 8 lads managed to catch 50 fish in less than 6 hours.
Brilliant days fishing with the winds just picking up as we steamed home
We have a 8 hour trip tomorrow with currently 5 Spaces for anyone who wants to join us

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Bringing us up to date been hard work over the previous weeks having to contend with all the bad weather, storm Doris etc every time offshore planned to try for spurdogs the weather turns! Inside we have been plagued with whiting of all sizes good job really as the cod just havent turned up this year for us only the odd fish here and there, Remains to be seen in the coming weeks whether we will get a spring codling run all we can do is keep going and keep trying. I would like to say to all the anglers who keep coming not only supporting the High Flyer, every other charter vessel out there as we know its hard up and down the country at the moment ,we do appreciate it. Someones got to be first to catch them why not you? Looking ahead if we can get out offshore, wont be this mid week on the forcast possibly this weekend we have got 7 places this sat 4th March due to cancellation if anyone interested please get in touch. Until then leave it with you roll on the summer i say! Cheers Jon (High Flyer)

Fishing Report by Ross Parham
on Spot On! (Brixham, Devon)
Feb 2017 by Ross Parham
Report on-board Spot On!
February has yet again been another lost month due to the constant strong winds hitting the south west.
With a break in the weather for a 4 day period we hit the mid channel wrecks in search of big Pollock, with every wreck we hit it was netted so on we moved again, yet again another net, boats coming up from Mevagissy to net Devon's wrecks and then local boats from Plymouth also netting makes life very difficult at time, only consolation was seeing a French trawler tow next to a wreck and then watch the dahn boys of the wreck nets disappear behind him.
We were not disheartened and soon Spot On was on the money once again with loads of Pollock hitting the deck with double figure fish every drift.
Some absolutely cracking fishing was had by all over the 4 days and as you can see from the recent pictures it was your truly who had a go when just 4 anglers on the boat and caught and I caught a whopper Pollock of
21lb 2oz.
Just 4 trips in February for 'Spot On' from Brixham in Devon. Lets hope March gives better weather.
Brixhams Summer Plaice competition is filling and spaces are limited so if you would like more details on this please get in touch.
Thanks to Mark from Top Rigs who came down for some fun and had a his fair share of fish, we will be trying his ling traces out very soon.
Also sidewinder Lures for tempting all the great fish we have caught to the net.
Spot On still has plenty of individual spaces available for day trips as well as Guernsey trips and Cornwall trips.

Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
On Saturday Feb 25th we had a very good day with fish up to 13lbs caught by John Alexander along with 4 other nice fish caught by John, and the other lads all caught and we totalled 13 good fish.
Sunday Started well but with a stronger tide and much higher winds up to 42 mph we only managed around 6 good fish and one or two smaller fish , but Richard did manage the best fish of the weekend... a nice 14 lbs fish so well done mate (that has set the target for Rob..) lol at last we are seeing some decent fish again so come on guys lets go fishing...!!!View Boats Page

Had some excellent off shore trips in early to mid February with nice pollack. Decided to do more 12 hour long distance trips to venture into other areas, it's proved very worth while and popular. Plan to carry on right through spring. To target pollack, ling, cod and bass.get in touch if interested
