    Report on-board Mistress

Time for an update, we've lost the last couple of days to bad weather but there's a glimmer on the horizon! We've managed a few days this week, but its been patchy with weather, as it generally is this time of year.

The last few trips have fished ok to be honest, with our last trip fishing well, to the lads with the decent bait, with 3 or 4 of us on board getting upward of 8 fish apiece,, the others just a handful. they've all been in the 3-6lb range so nice eating fish size.

Prior to the last blow the water was starting to clear, so fishing was average with us boating 30-40 fish for the day each day.

Looking at the weather charts there's a bit of chance friday, and I've had a bit of interest for friday night too,
The trip will be 6pm till midnight, and will cost £30 per person, I have 6 places available, and you will need a bit of experience in fishing at night with the correct equipment.

The weekend is looking good too, so fingers crossed the weather gods play ball with us!

Best baits - Cart has fished very consistently with us this year, decent blacks and unwashed squid has also produced, its always worth bringing some mussel for tipping off with as well, leave your fish baits at home folks, despite advice people still insist on bringing mackerel and blueys (wrong time of year).

So have a look through the photos, and if you fancy either a night or day Uptiding trip with me here at Whitby on the Mistress, give me a shout on 07977 436903, or drop me a mail at seafishingwhitby@hotmail.co.uk

    Report on-board Girl Mandy

To the so called professional skipper Matt Barns of the Seiont A if you persist in slagging me of on Facebook i will take matters further and as of this day you are now being monitored and the police are being informed and from there court proceedings will be forthcoming. And if you so wish you can report me to any government department you wish we are fully accounted and if you wish the name of my accountant will be provided but be very careful as people like you should not throw stones in a greenhouse. As for me hiding do you know thats the most stupid thing i have heard my number is 07930526497, you have now made three remarks about me and all three are being collated to form a case for slander perhaps if you stop hiding behind face book and speak to me direct then you will get the facts direct A vessel your size should be reporting in to london vts and you also must have a listening watch via vhf and if you ever get round to reading the back of your vhf / Dsc license any thing you mention to third parties is a broken law of the home office. Again i dont know your number mine is 07930526497 and i dont have facebook as that site is for trolls and losers so the next move is in your court but before you yet again call me a prick of a charter skipper be aware the articles will go direct to the police. Just a foot note, before you put the panels in you were complaining of the lost shrimp being squashed by skate so dont play the poor hard done by owner and call me. I have been working this river before you were ever born so dont quote rules and regs to me as a lot of the time my job was sole fishing with my own commercial vessel many years ago

  • 02/11/2016 Fishing Report by Ryan Casey on Meerkat (Weymouth, Dorset)

2 Nov 2016 by Ryan Casey

    Report on-board Meerkat

BIG COMPETITION FOR 2017- DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS

Great Response for this one for next year already 11 spaces already SOLD so only 9 spaces remaining. Be quick folks to avoid disappointment!!!

£1000 UP FOR GRABS IN 2017!!
So then all something new for 2017. Myself and Ryan on Meerkat have teamed up to design a new Specimen League for Supanova and Meerkat for 2017.
The league will run throughout 2017 and be made up of 8 different Sundays throughout the year. Each trip will be focussed on one particular species. Only the designated species will count each day.
We have come up with the idea so people can really see what Weymouth has to offer apart from the obvious species.
Each angler will be expected to attend all 8 dates throughout the year, if an angler is unable to attend then they will be expected to pay for their spot unless an alternative can be found. Each anglers 7 highest scores will count towards the grand total at the end of the year so if you do miss one or have a nightmare comp then you can drop your worst score.
It will cost each angler £60 to enter the league for the year, plus payment of one trip up front as a deposit.
The entry money will go 100% to prizes and a buffet presentation at the end of the season.
So.......... points are scored based on our local area specimen weights. e.g if one month we target Turbot and the specimen is 10lb a 10b fish is worth 100 points and a 5lb fish is worth 50 etc etc i'm sure you get it!
There are 20 spaces up for grabs, 10 on each boat. If you have a preference to what boat you fish on then that's fine just let me or Ryan know, we want to keep it fun but at the same time show off some of the fantastic specimens Weymouth has to offer.
The Beauty of this is anyone can catch a big one and be in with a chance of the money at the end of the season.

    Specimen League dates 2017
    26th February Pollack £75pp
    2nd April Spurdogs £55pp
    9th July Turbot/Brill £55pp
    13th August Undulate/ Blonde Rays £55pp
    24h September Black Bream £55pp
    29th October Congers/Bull Huss £55pp
    12th November Ballan Wrasse £55pp
    10th December Whiting £55pp

(where there are two target species the best specimen of the two will count as your score for that comp)
Should a specie not turn up and myself and Ryan decide to change the target specie you will be informed with plenty of time but we will try our best to not deviate from the plan.
If a comp is cancelled due to weather then unfortunately the diaries do not allow for rescheduling but most are inshore trips so there are nearly always options to target what we need to somewhere.
PRIZES UP FOR GRABS AT THE END OF THE SEASON
    1st overall £1000
    2nd overall £500
    3rd overall £250
    Tackle prizes for the following:
    Best Specimen Overall
    Best Specimen Meerkat
    Best Specimen Supanova

    Report on-board Mistress

This saturday was the last day in our winter uptide festival here at Whitby.

All in all its been a successful do for us, with many daily prizes for heaviest fish and heaviest bag,
Mistress won the heaviest bag section, with Gary Arkle landing and impressive bag of 39lb 15oz, the same day saw myself with another bag of 38lb and another lad with 32lb. Rob Bailey also weighed in a bag over 31lb, Plus loads of bags into the 20's.

We had fish upto 8lb 8oz but most were in the 4-6lb range.

So now thats over with, we will be back to normal sailing times, 0730-1630,

Keep an eye out on my Facebook page, Mistress Sea Angling Charters, for our night trips which we will be doing again this winter. Mistress is the only boat in Whitby offering these trips and they have always been very popular,

so if you fancy a day or night out give me a call or text on 07977 436903, or drop me a mail at seafishingwhitby@hotmail.co.uk
