Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
Poole Harbour is producing some quality fish Plaice up to 4lb, plenty of Bream and Gurnards and some big Wrasse not everyone's favourite but when in the 6lb class on light tackle they provide fantastic sport. Along the beaches Plaice dominate the catches although the fish are in the small to medium class the quantity provides plenty of action mixed in are Bream, Gurnards, small Hounds, Trigger fish and the occasional Cod. We tried the deeper Cod marks towards the Isle of Wight but were plagued with very small Congers and the 1st nice haul of Whiting this season. Several decent sized Rays were landed making it a good day but sadly no Cod ( always next time)

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Well summers gone looking forward to snow and ice with hot soups on the go and hopefully those lovely cod turning up for us thats what winters all about in my book! Few skate at the moment showing up as they do for about a month here, plenty of whiting i,m afraid some crackers among them to be honest. Few spotty dogs and the odd smoothound still coming in will be glad to see them go so we know the water temperature will have dropped letting our cod friends come in still bit warm at the mo. Reports of codling not too far away facebook pictures telling the stories unfortunately none for us as yet but i think after a few frosts and you can feel that nip in the air now at night it wont be long now. Keep an eye on our evening trips that we will be running for night cod fishing inshore or if you have a party and want to organise get in touch for best tides. I say this every year and get bored of it but think ahead for trips if you need a weekend still places available but soon as the first cod appear bookings go ballistic and you cant always get on at the weekends. New set of Akios reels onboard and new GX2 boat rods next week looking forward to using them , trips still same price £45 per person using your own tackle add £5 using our gear covers losses/replacement. All bait supplied but for this year due to worm costs i would say bring a handfull for yourself if you wish to use lug all day unfortunately with free lug people seem to make huge great baits waste alot and spoil it for others shame really. So looking forward to start of the cod season hopefully see you soon stocking up on the coup of soups!! Tight lines .

For the very first time this year we did not get all of the fish we were after, well we got some Bream but the Bass eluded us so I guess its fair to say it was 50% successful. We headed West, then North, anchored some, drifted a little, changed rigs several times, put in the miles and stayed out a little longer - it was tough! Anglers were great (particular thanks to Stuart for sharing the "bait of the day" which only he had, classy Stuart and much appreciated by all) and we ended up with some lovely deep plaice to go with the Bream so on balance a reasonable day.
Sunday 9th
Really needed a day off and hadn't planned on fishing but at 0900 received an SOS from a group that found their boat double booked and stranded in Brighton - what a horrible position to be in. 90 minutes later we are heading out to Sea and making plans on the hoof! Feathered some bait, headed West and had a great days fishing which included: Scad, Mackerel, Starry Smooth-hound, Bream, Dog fish (off course), Dabs, Plaice, Red Gurnard and our first inshore Cod of the year. Happy anglers with a box full of fish to take away and a ruined day salvaged at the last minute.
We are now prepping for serious Cod so its time to pack away the 12-20lb class and get the big guns out!!
Availability is limited (took another 4 bookings this morning) from repeat customers who clearly like what we do - Top quality tackle, unlimited free premium cuttle bait and free Tea/Coffee/Soup/Hot chocolate all day for £50 so if you are interested please give us a call and we will try our best to accommodate.

Fishing Report by Phil White
on Chinook 3 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)
10 Oct 2016 by Phil White
Report on-board Chinook 3
The weather has really changed this last week and this has brought the sea temperature down considerably.
View Boats Page
Inshore
There are a lot more thornbacks showing up over the last few days in all areas inshore, these smaller rays will be with us through until at least January depending on water temperature, best baits are squid and herring.
The whiting have really pushed in to all areas and there are increasing numbers of better fish showing up, these tasty fish will provide good sport right through the Autumn and Winter, best baits are lug and mackerel.
The piers and Estuaries are producing whiting, thornbacks and schoolies with the occasional oddities like wrasse and gurnards from the piers. Best baits are rag, lug and squid.
Offshore
When the weather has allowed, the fishing has been excellent with a real good mix of fish on the offshore banks throughout September. There have been some good smoothounds up to 10 lb, thornbacks, bass, dabs, small tope, whiting and a few other species.
Prospects are excellent, hopefully we should start to see some cod as we get nearer November, more thornbacks and whiting. -

Fishing Report by Nigel Lihou
on Optimist (Brixham, Devon)
8 Oct 2016 by Nigel Lihou
Report on-board Optimist
First of all an apology as I haven't let you know what Optimist has been up to for the last few months but things have been a bit hectic.
View Boats Page
Fish has been steady on the Skerries with a good species count on most trips, the Plaice are still around and getting plumper with the usual appearance of a Ray or two aboard on most trips mainly Blondes although we have had spotted, small eyed and thornback aboard (not all at once). The Gurnards appear with good regularity and mackerel seem more prolific on the banks than where they normally are around the headlands we have only seen one Garfish so far this year and quite a small one at that. Turbot and Brill have both been boated over the last couple of months with the biggest about 5lb and on the last trip out we managed a first for Optimist with a small starry smooth hound also on the same trip it was great to bring a Bass aboard a rare occurrence this year although we nearly lost it as it spat the hook in the net.
We continue to monitor the wreck situation which has been dire all year with very few decent fish, mainly pouting and small Pollack, but the sounder has been showing large balls of bait fish very close to the wrecks not good if you are trying to attract a fish with a plastic lure.
We will continue to be afloat for the majority of the winter and hope that the weather is a little kinder than last winter
Don't for get to give us a call if you fancy some good fishing -

Report on-board Strongbow
Due to the high water temperatures fish migrations have been halted affecting Plaice and Bass.

First few inshore Cod showing and the Flounders have moved into the harbour although unusually large numbers of small Bass are causing problems robing the bait at the moment . -

Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3
After being out of the water for a few weeks with one of the engines being rebuilt.

We managed to get a couple of good trips out recently. There were some good sized Congers along with Turbot, Brill still fishing well. There have also been some nice Blonde Rays showing now as well.
This picture of 'Scoop' with a cracking Lobster of over 7lb. It was caught it while Conger fishing and caught it on a Mackerel flapper.
We are now starting the inshore Cod fishing and there have been some nice sized ones showing. It just needs to get a bit colder to bring the numbers up.
