    Report on-board Mistress

    12-9-16
Its been just over a week since our last update and the autumn festival is in full swing here at Whitby.

I've been working my socks off as always trying to get the Mistress anglers among fish. Leading up to the festival, a few nice fish started poking their heads out giving me high hopes for the event.

During the big tides we were fishing the ground and luckily there seemed to be a good number a double figure fish lurking on the hard ridges, as the tides lift again I can see us returning to the ground, we had an 18lber off the ground prior to the festival so there's always every chance of a winner cruising around.

As the tides eased we started fishing the wrecks, we have had a pretty good week aboard Mistress, with many double figure fish boated and many daily prizes to our anglers.

We're currently leading the event with a a cracking Ling of 23lb 2 1/2oz, but had another 18lber earlier in the week as well as fish just short of 16lb and absolutely loads of 11-12lb fish.
There still a week to run and there's every chance of catching a bigger one. we have a few remaining places this week on Friday.

I'm offering a short morning trip on the 29th of this month, running 7am-12 noon. it'll be £25 per person.

If you fancy a crack at the festival or just joining me for a days fishing drop me a line on 07977 436903, E-mail: seafishingwhitby@hotmail.co.uk or drop me a message on my FB page Mistress Sea Angling Charters.

    Tight lines - Rich

    Report on-board Just Mary

PLAN 'A' JURASSIC COAST HERE WE COME ! Sometimes a Skipper's plan will come together and the weather Gods will shine on those who put in maximum effort, Sunday just gone was such a day on 'Just Mary' from Poole. With the Saturday trip cancelled due to strong winds and heavy rain, Sunday broke on a fine clear morning. So with some Regulars, Tom 'The Brickie', Alex 'The Jock', Gary C.P and Dave Gubb being joined by six Novices including a young lady we ventured off to the 32's South of the Jurassic Coast. Slight swell running from the weather of the day before and a couple of fruitless stops for Mackerel and Scad until we set the anchor in 120 feet of water. A beautiful slack 2.7 Dover tide with ebb first and flood all afternoon awaited us. Setting everyone up with Hire Gear who needed it and the fish started coming in. Pouting followed by some nice Black Bream on the ebb, Mackerel and Scad as we reached Low Water. Then the Big Fish.....a 40lb Tope for Tom, a 15lb Conger for Dave, a first Double figure Bull Huss for Dave and a 30lb Conger for Alex that made his muscles ache. The Hire rod lads caught Bream and the only fish missing was a nice Ray.....several traces were bitten straight through by even bigger fish. A nice day in good company and we will try to get there again, weather permitting.....All the Best, Malc and 'Just Mary' from Poole.....ta.

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Bringing us up to date to weekend of 10/11 Sep 2017, have gone from catching some amazing tope action on the banks to last couple of weeks struggling as summer fish moving off and the dreaded winter whiting showing up! The odd decent smoothound still about and few spotty dogs inshore still and pictured here small roker caught by first timer on the Flyer Artur from Norwich returned for another day. We find these skate return for around a month and then disappear so hopefully will be getting a few from now on till weather turns and we see the codling return. If your planning a weekend trip for cod and need a Sat or Sun please get in as quite a few dates have gone already some partially booked as well dont leave it till last minute. We will try do more evenings this winter as weather allows as we dont have to go far and usually wind drops so look out for those, home by midnight leave about 6pm. So will see what happens rest of this month bit mish and mash but always is until then tight lines everyone. Jon (High Flyer)

Another great day on the wrecks with some good fish showing yet again.

Unfortunatly the winds picked up in the last few hours and made fishing difficult

Best fish today was a 14lb ling but there were a few around 10 and 11lb

    Best cod was 11lb

Still not many Cod caught today but plenty of ling and few pollock were caught as well as mackerel, whiting and a few gurnards.
