Some good days thrown into the mix.
With cod into double figures and ling upto 18lb we have managed to find a good stamp of fish aswell. Fish have been falling to shads, bait, and baited "fast drop" jiggers
The W.C.S.A. autumn festival is starting on the 3rd of September with places available for great tides give Shaun a call to avoid dissapointment.View Boats Page

Fishing Report by Steve Eastman

Report on-board Kittiwake 111
What a great days fishing with excellent weather. We had plenty of Mackerel on the way out to use for bait.
For most of the lads it was their first boat trip . At anchor they boated a total of 15 Rays the largest weighing in at 16lbs.
On the way back drifting for Mackerel , one of the lads caught a rare Red Band weighing approximately 10oz.
I have never come across this species before during my 32 years of chartering.
Is this due to climate change as apparently coddling have been caught on our shores ????
All fish were returned.View Boats Page

Fishing Report by Steve Green
on Brigand (Brighton, East Sussex)

Report on-board Brigand
Had the pleasure of top angler and great bloke Calvin aboard Brigand today. A mix-up with dates meant the rest of his party were unable to join us but I wasn't going to add to the disappointment by cancelling so we headed out into a beautiful Brighton morning on a bit of a species hunt, the result;
Mackerel
Scad
Red Gurnard
Plaice
Dab
Dogfish (of course!)
Bream
And a couple of cracking Bass.
Great weather, great company and great fishing - Brighton at it's best.
Best wishes

Fishing Report by Philip Higgins
on Mistress Linda / San Gina3 (Poole, Dorset)

Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
What a full on month this has been, on our inshore sea fishing trips there have been plenty of small bait robbing bream. These are great fun to fish for but expensive on bait and very frustrating, mackeral are scarce at the moment but there are plenty of small scad in their place. Along the Dorset beaches Plaice and Gurnards are the target with the hope of a Trigger fish. On the outer banks Tope are providing the sport along with Ray's. Local wreck fishing trips from Poole are producing plenty of small to medium size Congers. Today we had an unplanned species hunt with Squid, Cuttlefish, Big Brown Crabs, Tope, Conger, Ray's, Plaice and lots of Bream, Scad and a few bonus Mackeral along with lots of banter.

Fishing Report by Sam Cumming

Report on-board Silver Spray II
August '16:
Although august has been quite windy we have been lucky enough not to cancel any trips, the fish have been abundant right the way from Sandbanks chain ferry to Cherbourg breakwater. Talking of Cherbourg we have seen the return of the bass on some of the wrecks after a bizarrely quiet season last year. Fishing in 200 feet with a live mackerel really is an exciting way to target the species, especially when they average 7lb. Tope fishing has taken off in recent weeks with most days seeing in excess of 50 fish up to 50lb or so. The abundance of fresh mackerel and scad across the grounds certainly helps to whip them up into a feeding frenzy. Out on the wrecks we are still going strong with plenty of monster pollock taking the bigger lures and the last of the years cod still popping their heads up. It seems to be that we are seeing some of the biggest fish of the year now in the high teens when usually we would be thinking about winding the longer range trips down. Wayne Mcmanus landed another john dory of around 4lb on a recent Cherbourg trip, as one of the rarer fish we catch they are always a welcome sight. Still got 3 more trips across the channel before the end of the season, hoping for some good weather so we can target those big autumn wreck bream. I have spaces to go on combined Alderney and Cherbourg trips in September and October, if you're interested give me a call on 07787 375386.
