Well the mackerel are here, that is on some of the wrecks.
The day started hard with things being a little slow other than the mackerel coming in, in good numbers some for bait and some for John's bbq and the rest frozen down for another day.
Along with the the mackerel some nice sized pollock one of which was more than likely picked up by a shark in mid water which Danielle held onto until the bite off and to add to that, we believe we lost another pollock on a different wreck to a seal, who just before the take had shown itself by the boat which Ryan held on to until the line gave in against the fight.View Boats Page

Jack's Stag day,
This was a hard days fishing as the weather was not on our side, but the lads made the most of it and our day started out at anchor on a deep water mark which produces a nice bass of around 10lbs plus some small tope, smoothound, Ray's and doggies, as the tide eased with made our way out to some nearby wrecks where we managed to find a couple of cod and some pollock before heading home, I would like to thank the lads for all the work they put in on a day when the fishing was not made easy by the weatherView Boats Page

July 2016
The weather has again been upside down for July we can have a day of flat oil like sea,
And then within mins of arriving back into the marina it was blowing 30 kts then the next 3 days would be blown off, then it might drop off for a couple of days then return for a few days well that is the British Summer for you.July started well with a good supply of bait fish, with good catches of Bull Huss,Dogs, Rays and all other species we have had Smoothhounds to 14.8 lbs We have tried to concentrate on the tope but with them being so far off shore the weather has to be favorable When we travel so far we tend to stop off on the way back and have a go for smaller stuff to break the trip up, our Tope trips have produced fish between 36lbs and 50lbs with the most in one day this year being into double figures, although we still have the story of one that was on for over 25mins and lost it 80 mts from the boat never mind thats fishing. Fingers crossed the wind settles.

After a few days away it was back to fishing, with the party on the boat by 8.00am and my grand son as co pilot it was off to the newcom bank as i had herd it had started to fish again and my information source was not wrong, not great numbers of fish but the fish we did catch were in very good condition,we finished up with 3 nice sized rooker and 5 big hounds with one fish being lost dont know what it was but i am sure it was a big hound or may have been a tope as it broke us off could not do any thing with it i think it had made its mind up that it was not coming to the boat, well done all and hope you enjoy your fish at The Sailors Home Kessingland tonight,Brian.
