Fishing report by Stuart Cross on Valkerie
Me my Dad and my son Andrew [aka mini me] had a good bash at some Pollock on Friday with Zac. He had a very sore throat, so Dave the crewman had to sing for him as the wreck came up. Its only Andrews second time wrecking so I showed him once more how to drop retrieve and drop again. Second wind up one 12lb Pollock to Andrew followed by a massive grin. When the score sheet read Bri 4 Andrew 4 me 0 I was getting twitchy. ‘Can I have a go with your rod?’ Andrew asked. Now they were on identical reels and I stupidly opted for the faster retrieve reel due to the low neap tide. ‘He’s got 4’ I thought ‘this will let me catch up’. Stupid me - 2 doubles on two drifts to Andrew and I’m still fishless. Zac is now grinning just as much as Andrew and Bri - its not going well. Andrew then topped it off with telling me [so that everyone could hear] that ‘I could reel in the next one he caught’ which by the way was a bass [returned] the only one of the day.
The fish were high on slack 30 -40 turns coming right down to the bottom as the tide was in mid flow. Scores Bri 7, Andrew 7 plus the bass including 4 doubles. I came third, stop laughing Glen it’s not funny. All in all it was a great day with a nice bunch of chaps, I’m now taking up knitting- until next time!View Boats Page

Fishing Report by Rich Ward
on Shy-Torque III (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
02.04.16.
The spring angling competition started here at Whitby last Saturday.
A very blustery Southerly wind was forecast at first so we decided to leave the harbour at 9 am to give the wind a chance to abait a little which fortunately it did.
We headed straight out to our first mark some 20 miles East of the Harbour with very poor results. Around 20 fish off it. The second spot produced a lot better with around 50 fish coming off this. No monsters but my old mate Guy Wrightson took the fish of the day on the boat with a Ling of 12 lb 3.5 oz. This fish also took the heaviest overall on the day in the competition and is currently leading the event. Well done mate. Let's hope it stands till the end!!
If you would like a go in the Spring comp we still have a few spaces left on the 11th, 12th and 13th next week.
A very nice 1st place cash prize of £1000.00 is on offer for the heaviest fish of the competition.

Fishing Report by TERRY BATT
on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)
4 Apr 2016 by TERRY BATT
Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
What a lovely day yesterday (Sunday 3rd April) didn't sadly get the last 2 spaces filled but we sailed into the sunshine with expectations high.
I must admit, we got to the mark with about an hour of flood tide left, but we only saw one roker...! and from the sound of it quite a few boats were struggling..??? which was very different to the last few days, as all boats big and small couldn't go wrong, not sure what happened???.
But once the ebb tide got away things were still a bit slow the odd one here and there, so we moved a mile or so East but was no better??? so up anchor yet again and moved to a new patch of soft ground not too far from where we were on Friday and bingo that's where the little devils were hiding, then we got into a steady stream of good fish coming over the side, and still wondered why it was so different to the last few days?? we were not out on Saturday as me and Nic were at a wedding, but from what the other boys said it had been every bit as good as the last few days..!! so it was a bit of a shock not to fall straight on them again... but that's Roker fishing for you.....lol
Congrats to Gareth for catching the first Smoothound, jammy git...lol good job he had a good skipper to put him right over the mark....lol nice one Ray Martin
Photo inset is of my good friend Andy easy, and his dad Allen...... well done lads
well we are still looking for a few anglers for this coming Wednesday 6th April, so if anyone wants to come on the trip just call me on....... 07768306646View Boats Page

Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
April has arrived and the fishing is improving, Saturday we ventured out to the wrecks in somewhat challenging conditions and were rewarded with good size Pollack from the start this continued all day with the best going to the skipper 16lb and a 15lb 1ozs Pollack being landed by Dave Colcough and as a bonus we found the Cod as well. Sunday we decided to go Turbot / Plaice fishing again in difficult conditions the wind kept veering making drifts awkward but we did manage to land 4 and drop at least 3 the best being a 12lb Turbot for Tony Partridge sadly we did not land a Plaice- next time. Plenty more specialist trips coming up please call for details
