Not much to report this month,like most boats we have been kept in port a lot with the constant storms.On the odd days we have been out the fishing has been a bit slower on the cod front with vast shoals of herring keeping the fish preoccupied,but we have found a few along with several thornback Rays and numerous whiting and dogfish,hopefully the weather will settle down soon and allow us to look offshore for some better fishing.
I would like to wish all my customers and others using this site a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year,all the best Lester

Hi guys, this Christmas greeting goes out to all my fellow professional charter boat skippers, that I have had not only the pleasure to work with out in the Thames Estuary, from the Blackwater, Mersea, Brightlingsea, River Crouch, Two Tree Island, Canvey, and those I speak too from Ramsgate... Hi Tony, and to the many who share our love of Sea Fishing, in what ever form you choose.. be it, Pier, boat, shore fishing, Have a fantastic Christmas and lets all hope (weather wise...) a better new year, Merry Christmas too you all..... just a few photos to remind us all at this time of year, some poor people are much worse off than we are.
These were taken a few years ago in Furness Golf club,
in Barrow in Furness, where the committee asked me and Nicola could help raise some money for a local school with special needs that had serve wind and flood damage, as they had no funding..!!, and as Nicola worked for years with special needs children, it was a no brainier, with
C winds help, we raised a staggering £1,500.00 for the kids in one evening... so Merry Christmas to all our friends in Barrow in Furness,,!!

This's double figure cod caught Uptiding on sea otter 2 just keep coming the lads yesterday got right amoung the cod and this cracking fish and a personal best for this man topped the day non stop action it's a big year on the cod on sea-otter 2 here at Whitby .

The Reef/Bank fishing is producing lots of Whiting,Rays,Congers etc on Squid and Mackerel baits. Pictured is 70 year old Colin Gardiner who caught his Personal Best Small Eyed Ray weighing 9Ib. There are dates and places available during the Christmas and New Year period. Don't Miss Out.

Sunday 27th December is now the date for the postponed 2nd Poole Cod comp. The whiting are here in good numbers and the quality has improved. In amongst these are some good Rays,Congers and Spurdogs. If you want to get out over the Christmas period then come and enjoy a day afloat with me

The Uptiding on sea- otter 2 here at Whitby keeps hammering the cod some really nice fish been out most of the week these strong winds you can get shelter here on the southwesterys tight under the cliffs but you are still in 60 ft of water and cod fishing can be awesome here are father inlaw and son inlaw with 2 really nice fish .

DECEMBER 2015
The last match in of the 2015 Flamer IV Specimen Species League saw Peter Collings get 1st place with a fine catch of Congers,Whiting etc.
The overall Results for the 2015 Flamer IV Specimen Species League were - Champion - David Gibson 73 points, (David Gibson is pictured)
Runner Up - Andy Collings 72 points,Best Specimen - Peter Collings 98.2%, Most Species - Andy Collings with 26 different species, Pairs Winners - Andy Collings and Danny Curtis with 27 different species, The Most Improved Angler Award went to Stephan Attwood.
The league is to run again in 2016 and will be fished on Sunday's. If you are interested in taking part in the friendly/competitive league,then contact asap for details. View Boats Page

The Cod have moved inshore into Poole bay along with the Whiting .The spoil grounds fishing well with Whiting averaging two to four lbs . This should make some good sport over Christmas.

Fishing is tough but perseverance does bring results as our guys have been showing over the last couple of weeks..!!
Vanishing Point is available this Saturday 19th Dec due to a cancellation, but as there is a £100.00 deposit rolling on this trip we are offering this to anyone who would like to take over the booking, so instead of £450.00 for the day hire, it is just £350.00 for the day... early Christmas present.....lol
