Fishing really well at the moment with some great Pollack up to 12lb+, Blonde Rays ,Bream ,Triggers to over 3lb and Cod to over 14lb.

Saturday saw us Joined by 10 year old Jack Rowlands with his dad celebrating his birthday and trying out his new rod. After trying a few inshore wrecks for a few fish Skipper Paul Eddon decided to shoot off to some ground on the 15 mile mark What a great move that turned out to be. We were catching Cod,Ling,Pollack and coal fish in a steady supply. Young Jack had a few codling on the shad but when he put a string of hokki's on that were baited with a sliver of squid and he had a cracking bite that turned into a "Lump" on the end. After about a 15-20 min fight of steady winding Jack boated his PB with a Ling that took the boat scales around to 15lb . The fish also won Jack a Free trip next time aboard Trot On. WELL DONE JACK .
Trot On still has a few places available for the coming week so book early to avoid disappointment View Boats Page

The Autumn Flatty fishing has really kicked in with some good catches of Plaice ,Turbot and Brill.
The signs are also good for next year with the mussels now growing back which will surely attract back the Big Plaice. Pictured is Jimmy Munday from Ipswich with his first ever Turbot which weighed 5Ib 2oz which he caught after a bit of tuition from the skipper with bait presentation etc. Jimmy was over the moon with his day on Flamer IV and said he will return.

Saturday 10th October, 8 lads out today good start to the day first fish up 10lb half lb ling then just picking away at them for the rest of the day, Some nice Pollock to 6lb, cod to 8 half lb, and Ling from 6lb to 13 half lb all caught on fresh mackerel total catch today around 45 good fish,

October 9th Friday, 5 anglers 5hr trip done very well around 35 fish taken Cod to 4 half lb, Pollock to 4 half lb, And Ling from 6lb to 10lb all caught on fresh mackerel,

Cracking days fishing today, we fished Rocky 1 and Rocky 2, Constable bank, tons of Mackeral,lots of nice big Dabs, plenty of Whitings, Red Tub and Grey Gurnard,a few Dog fish, few Bullhuss, and 1 Skate.

Yesterdays lads asked if we could try target Pollack and Ling which I thought was an unusual request after the amount of Cod we've been seeing recently. Each one to their own though I guess.
We started the day by gathering a few fresh Mackerel which is always the best bait for the Ling. After boating around 25, we headed out and began work. A couple of the first marks producing steady up until lunch time. 60 or so fish for the boat. A mixture of Pollack, Ling and cod.
The afternoon tide didn't improve things much more for us with just another dozen or so fish being landed.
Not quite the fishing that we've been seeing of late but the lads all thoroughly enjoyed their day with us.
Remember, tides are now available for 2016 lads. You can make your bookings as of now.

Another excellent day for the lads on Sea-otter 2 Gary and the lads from Sheffield worked shads nearly all day to maximum affect some belting fish and plenty of them a lot more to come .

well the cod fishing is improving week by week ,had half a day fishing
river blackwater sunday and ended up with 21 cods between 3 and 5lb
so looking good ,skate still about in numbers with plenty of whiting and spottys
