Brian Martin and friends did a drifting trip and caught some nice Plaice on Ragworm and squid strip baits. The signs are good for next year with the mussels now growing back which will surely attract back the Big Plaice.
On the same trip they also caught Brill and Turbot on mackerel strip baits. Brian Martin is pictured with a 3Ib 8oz Plaice.

A bit of a strange one to weigh up weather wise for today's trip. Variable winds to start the day going NW later. A betwixed and between one. However, once put to the vote, the lads decided to come and have a go.
A bit of swell to welcome us first thing but with the wind at absolute zero there wasn't a problem at all, in fact, a "glass like" sea / swell !!
We had a run to the ground on the 5 mile which produced a few nice fish with Pollack to the 6lb mark and a good number of Codling and ling. The lads at the end of the day all pleased with the outcome of the days efforts.
Ex professional footballer and now playing for Whitby Town F.C Lee Bullock joined us for today's trip. This was his maiden sea trip in the U.K and he was delighted with his dozen fish. The rest of the group ending up with similar amounts plus oodles of Mackerel !!

fished the 4 mile mark today 5 hour trip, plenty of Mackeral ,good numbers of Dabs, Whiting, few Dogfish,Gurnard, then moved in shore fished the end off the river, for better quality, Dabs and Whiting.

Just a quick notice on my page to Skipper Trev who runs Girl Mandy, a highly respected charter boat, one of which I hear good things all the time, but after being badly let down on Sunday, by some arse who after saying on Saturday night he would be on the boat just didn't turn up...!!! God knows we have all had that, then you try to call them, and either they dont answer, or just press ignore, then you text, and no reply...
This is no joke people.... it's our living you are playing with, and I take my hat off to Trevor for not only naming and shaming this person, but has put his phone number out there so the rest of us don't get taken in by this individual.........
Well done Trev, I have his number in my phone as Twat, to remind me not to accept a call from his number... and I hope all skippers will do the same....Mr Michael Jacks 07851879733 is not welcome on Vanishing Point-2.......!!! View Boats Page

Well it's early October and the Skerries Bank is still producing some very good fish. As well as the usual Plaice, Gurnards and Rays it's reeling in a few surprises like the 7lb 6oz Spurdog brought aboard by Ian (the crew) on a trip last Saturday. We have bookings throughout Oct and Nov weather permitting and are taking bookings for 2016 for Wreck and Bank fishing just phone for details

Hi All, after a week of Equinox tides and strong Easterly winds that kept most of the fleet confined to Port the weekend broke on Saturday into a calm still day. After the early morning fog and mist came a bright sunny day and found us sitting on a reef mark in Poole Bay. Having stopped in the Entrance for Mackerel but landing only 'chequer' bass we moved on to our 'Mackerel mark' and despite my concerns landed enough Mackerel to use as fresh bait. Once on the mark my Anglers, using mainly hire rods, reels and the Skippers own made traces landed Conger Eel, Smoothounds, Small Eyed Ray, Channel Whiting and Pouting plus Gurnard. The day got brighter when despite a tangle of at least three lines local Beach Angler Jamie Richardson hooked and landed a magnificent 10lb 4oz Bass. Good morning to all our loyal and happy anglers I do apologise for this report but it needs to be said. ( Tosser ) of the week goes to a ( Mr Michael Jacks phone number 07851879733 ) thank you very much for letting the rest of the group that were fishing with me on Sunday 4/10/2015 down even to the point of speaking with you on Saturday evening and you were all up for it, you did not bother to show on the morning and also ignored texts and when calling you switched your phone off all you had to do was let us know either by phone text email or whats app it wont offend but by saying nothing does. The rest of the party voiced the fact that you are a pain in the backside. But the most annoying thing was I had to turn down two other anglers that were desperate to go so again thank you just to remind other skippers the name is ( MICHAEL JACKS contact number 07851879733 ) watch out for this comedian On a positive note fishing has been great so come out with us for a days fishing there are still the odd weekend dates left this year you can find all the news and pics on our web site girl mandy fishing charters until our next report good fishing and tight lines
