Fishing Report by Alan Milford
on Moonstone - now Why Worry! (Littlehampton, West Sussex)

Report on-board Moonstone - now Why Worry!
A mixed weekend of weather with Saturday being wet and windy and Sunday the complete opposite!
Saturday saw a couple of firsts on Moonstone....a nice blonde ray of nearly 20lb and a couple of good small eyed rays too.
The rest of the day was made up of bream, tope and smoothound.
Sunday with a regular crew we had a drift for some bass with live sandeels (Thanks Jason), but none landed. The cuttlefish seemed to love them though.
A move west brought undulate rays, some cracking hounds and a few small bream.
Back out asap for more of the same.

on Just Mary (Christchurch, Dorset)

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, just a quick report which you will find in more detail on our Facebook page of 'Onamission Charters' in more detail. Autumn is here now and the kids are back to School and whilst it means new challenges for them it opens up new opportunities for Anglers aboard 'Just Mary' from Poole. This time of year when the weather allows we push off to the 'Autumn Grounds' in search of Big Black Bream, Blonde Rays, Bass, Big Conger Eels and Tope. Yesterday, Sunday, we found all of them on one mark. Glorious Day with Good Company and some Cracking Fish were landed and probably just as many lost. Deep Sea fishing tests Anglers and their gear to the limit, this is Big Boys Fishing ! Pics are from the day when 'Plan A' came together and the weather behaved itself, we can only hope and pray to the Big Man to give us more days like yesterday.....and more Fish ! Thanks, Malc.....and may your God go with You.....!

on Channel Warrior (Bridport, Dorset)

Report on-board Channel Warrior
August was a very windy month in Lyme Bay but the fishing was nothing short of fantastic, more cod than we have seen for years and the same for the plaice. September has started on the same note but the wind being much lighter so far, may it continue that way. The Pollock are starting to show a little more now, the bass are hit and miss although I have not targeted them much due to the amount of cod fishing, why spend time steaming all around the bay looking for bass when you have got such a good cod fishery on your doorstep. The bream are much bigger this year although they were much later getting here. Still plenty of fat plaice about we must of had about 10 or more yesterday in about half an hour on the way back from the cod grounds. All I can say now is fingers crossed for a good Autumn/winter season
Tight lines to all SteveView Boats Page

Report on-board Optimist
06/sept/2015 Some excellent fishing over the last few days on the Skerries Banks we have been Spot on with the rays as evidenced with the photos and also hitting the plaice with a smattering of Gurnards and Dogfish but it's been the rays that have provided the sport all returned to fight another day. Our local tackle shop owner Graham managed a decent Blonde earlier in the week and the Skipper although confessing to not really trying was Spot on with an 11lb Blonde ray followed by another and an Undulate Ray (sorry no photo) and yet another Blonde on the surface before the trace snapped. The Wrecks are still a bit quiet but with some spectacular fishing on the Banks we are certainly bringing the fish aboard and keeping the customers happy and thanks for the text's "Thank you for your boat trip today. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience on your friendly boat. Will definitely book again. Cheers" We have more trips planned, we would love to welcome you aboard to enjoy some 'spot on' fishing with a knowledgeable crew. Photo shows Dominic from Hereford with a 6lb 4oz Blonde.

Fishing Report by TERRY BATT
on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)

Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
What a day…!! Sunday 6th Sept,
We left Bradwell at 0700 and arrived 25 miles out in just on an hour, but due to a very brisk North West wind some 10 mph more than forecast, it was not fit to fish this mark, so we turned the boat around and headed closer in to the Gunfleet sands, where the water was much calmer, and we began to fish.
We hadn’t been there long and we started getting a few fish, doggies, and a few small Roker… but being a small tide, 5.1m there wasn’t much run on the tide, aaaargh !! I really wanted to be further offshore, but after a couple of hours the wind did ease off, and I took the decision to push back out to my original fishing mark, 6 miles South of our position, and I Am glad I did…!!
Once anchored up lines were cast and within 5 minutes we had two Roker hooked up, both double figure fish…!!! Just as I thought, the fish were thick on the ground, just a shame we couldn’t stop there for the first two hours of the ebb.
So… once we were off the blocks (so to speak) we then had a quadruple hook up, four good Roker on..!! And all my anglers were as happy as could be.
I had a very nice father and son team on today, Neil and son Harvey, such a polite young man, and a very quick learner too, Harvey caught some nice fish which included Thornback Rays to 9 lbs, and Smoothounds, and was casting his own rod like a Pro..!! well done son, you will be welcome any time on VP-2..!
My very good friends Ian and Elaine were on the boat today, lovely to see them again..!! and Ian had a secret weapon in his fishing arsenal.. a fish cent feeder, well Ian was fishing two rods, and the one with the feeder out fished the other rod 4 to 1.. pretty impressive I Must say.
Well the day just flew bye, and we stayed an hour longer as the weather was now settled and the sea was virtually flat calm, but it was time to hit the button for home, and although we caught around 30 Roker, we only kept around 7, so Nicola started to help the guys gut, and skin their fish.
A lovely day had by all, and we do it all again tomorrow, looking forward to it…!!
Tight lines everyone..!!!View Boats Page

Report on-board Silver Spray II
The first time since the new rules were set in place earlier this year we have finally hit the 3 bass per angler limit, I was pleased to see all the guys keen to return any extra that hit the deck. Due to the amount of small scad we have been getting for bait bass catches have finally risen to a sensible level after a tricky start to the season. Also in strong numbers this month have been the tope. 2 hours sessions have been more than enough with upwards of 40 fish not uncommon. On a recent trip to Alderney Silver Spray’s new top angler Finley Palmer tackled a tope of 25lb caught on a live mackerel, a brilliant method to get the best fight possible as the tope really nail the livebait and take off on a 20 yard run to kick things off. And last but not least the wrecks are still keeping us entertained with plenty of cod and pollock on the lures and ling on the dead baits. Last week saw the arrival of the autumn bream mid channel, bringing some good fun over slack for those who don’t want to fish for the big stuff. Harvey Collier did just this but unfortunately it backfired when a 24lb cod took a fancy to his tiny bream rig in 260 feet of water. A bit of a surprise but a welcome one!

Inshore Fishing
The fishing along the beaches this last few days has been extraordinary in the amount of quality fish being caught, Trigger fish are the target species and they have shown in good numbers along with these we have landed Cod and Bass to 6lb, Rays to 13lb and plenty of Plaice, Bream, Gurnards all to good size along with the usual mini species. Many drops have seen good quality doubles but the highlight of these was Sam Burrows with a Cod on the top hook and a Sole of 2lb on the bottom hook caught in bright sunshine. All have been caught on very light gear which has tested the angler and gear and proved great fun.View Boats Page
