Superb fishing off Ramsgate for now with good size Bass, Skate and Smoothound. The Belgium fysching club enjoyed their week landing quality fish every day aboard Duke IV. They topped off their catches with Skate to 11lb, with Bass and Hounds to 8lb. Most fish came to lugworm with Skate preferring the Mackerel chunks. We have been plagued with dirty water over the last few weeks that has made Mackerel fishing difficult although the water ia clearing now giving us a better chance with the feathers, along with the Mackerel a few Bass and gurnard kept it interesting. Now is the best time for large Bass, a waiting game although the Hounds and Whiting fill in the gaps. The odd Codling starting to show up so fingers crossed for this years cod fishing that should start in October and go through the winter. The Skate fishing can be good throughout the winter along with Whiting keeping the angler's busy. I like to try the wrecks in September for the Cod that build up prior to coming inshore for the crab and small Whiting that make up there diet through the winter. I have spaces left on a wreck trip on Wed 9th September.
So plenty of action to be had with space and date's available to book Duke IV

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
After a cracking break with my 2 boys and friends down near my mothers in Devon we're back at it again lads. The first crew on board after the break was Dean Parsons and his mates from Easingwold. A great days sport on the ground with over 70 fish caught between the 5 of them, plus a hugging of monster Mackerel !! The fishing continues to be at it's best here at Whitby. Room for a few spare anglers tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday.

Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
Well we have been so busy over the last few weeks guys, I have had very little time to catch up with fishing reports.
View Boats Page
But I will give you an overall summery of how the Thames Estuary has been fishing..!!
There has been plenty of good Smoothound action, with fish into the high end doubles, most of the professional boats from both the river Blackwater, and our friends in the river Crouch, have been hitting them with huge susses, and all are encouraged to put the vast majority back alive to fight another day, and this has been the case I am glad to report..!!
It the right places further off-shore you can still have big hits of Thornback Rays, and there are lots of big double figure females amongst them, and again we go there on the understanding that most of the fish are returned alive, and only take enough for a feed at the table, as we do not endorse the old ways of years gone by, of wholesale slaughter...!! them days I am glad to say are long gone, and I am pleased to report, that most anglers now all read from the same hymn book...! now we have a sustainable fishery, and we didn't need some erk in Brussels to tell us how to do it, we have managed it, with the co-operation of our sensible anglers by our-self's, and we have great fishing nearly all year round.
There are huge amounts of juvenile fish in the shallows, right on top of the sands, in 3 foot, we fish up there for Bass on the incoming big spring tides, but we get to see all the small Tope, Thornbacks, LSD, Smoothhounds
and whiting.... just about every species you could imagine, even a little Place, was caught the other day.. so all in the garden is coming up roses so to speak, and that my friends is largely due to the fact, love em or hate them ... the wind turbines affords these little fish huge amounts of protection, and stops them being swept out to sea on the big tides, they just hide up behind the wind turbines, out of the tide nice and safe..!!!
Well this wind is relentless, and with the rain pouring down, not a great summer, but it is heart warming as I am sitting here writing this report, on TV the "big Blue UK live", Huge, one of the presenters, has just said what I have have been banging on about!!!, years ago he said he is ashamed to say, that he is sad to say years ago he was responsible 40 years ago to have killed a Blue Shark, and now wants to help conserve our marine life, so once again education, and understanding has been victorious and this is a good thing, and with most things, with the exposure of television it gets out to the masses..!!
Ok guys we will see what the weather does tomorrow, and see weather the ropes come off and head out to sea, or weather the wind is going to blow again, driving the rain and washing yet another trip out..!!
until next time........ Tight lines.. -

Quick report been very busy hardly any days off untill this little front of wether very good numbers of fish about at the moment most of my partys wanting to fish for the bass recently with plenty of action for all most fish well over the new legal size limit with the better ones kept for the pot rest all reasled most fish over the 2lb mark at the moment biggest last week was just over 5lb nice eating size. Still loads hounds about little run of bigger fish 22lb the biggest. Rays are building in good numbers as they always do this time of year. The odd cod turning up still so it a good sign for the wither season. Hit the mackrele the other day had about 70 odd but still not loads about never really turned up. Gurnad sole flounders dabs and whiting doggys showing up too book early to secure a space or date dont leave it to late and be disappointed when im full

Fishing Report by LESTER BAKER
on Seawatch1 (Brightlingsea, Essex)
Aug 2015 by LESTER BAKER
Report on-board Seawatch1
It's been a busy summer on Seawatch in the Thames estuary and I didn't realise how long ago I wrote my last report so here is a quick update.June continued to give us some good bass and thornback catches and some great days on the Smoothhounds which turned up in great numbers and as usual became the main species in our summer fishing.Although we tried several times for mackerel they failed to show in any numbers in our area and like most boats we gave up looking for them, from reports I have seen they appear to be in short supply all round the coast this year.
View Boats Page
After a couple of quieter weeks in late July and early August fishing has improved again with some really big hounds showing again and the return of some better size rays on the grounds, the last week has also seen some good bass being caught with the best on Seawatch at 9.8ozs to Mike McHale
Most boats have been catching the odd cod throughout the summer and I'm sure next month will see a sharp increase in the numbers ,which can only add to the mixed bags of fish we are enjoying at the moment
