    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

The fishing remains very good at the moment lads. Some good ground fishing to be had and also some good sport on the wrecks.

We have started our sharking missions now too. Sadly none boated as yet, but we have had a couple of "Runs" We also had one swimming around the boat on the last trip so signs are good. If you fancy a go for them give me a ring to arrange a trip.

The Summer competition started here at Whitby on Saturday just gone. Massive cash prizes on offer again this year with the top prize standing at £5000.00!! Last year the boys on the Shy-Torque took 2nd, 3rd and 4th heaviest fish overall, plus the heaviest cod caught too at over 20lbs! Stacks of daily prizes won too.

We have a couple of days left with room in this years comp.

They are :- Wed 1st July. Room for 5.

Fri 3rd July. Room for 1.

Mon 6th July. Room for 5.

Come and join us for a slice of the action!

    Tight lines as ever

    Rich.

  • 06/2015 Fishing Report by Rich Cope on Mistress (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

    Jun 2015 by Rich Cope

    Report on-board Mistress

We've had a good week here at ‪whitby‬ on the ‪Mistress‬ when we could get out between the weather systems, cant believe its June and we're losing as many days as we are for the time of year!

We've seen a few double figure this week, and a few just shy of doubles too, so the bigger ones are starting to poke their noses out!

Our best day this week saw the lads boat well over 200 cod in under 8 hours! absolutely phenomenal fishing, The lads again kept what they wanted and threw lots and lots of fish back, the best lad had 35 cod himself, and a few other lads also boated over 30 cod apiece.

The best Cod went to Tom Toase from Helmsley and it went 11lb 5oz on the boat scales, the best Ling was 10lb 5oz to Rob Bailey from Rotherham,

The Ling got Rob on the leaderboard in our Current WCSA summer festival, he got a daily 2nd and its currently 2nd heaviest fish of the comp,
The festival runs for 3 weeks 20th June - 12th July, and there is a whopping £5000 up for grabs first prize, plus many other cash prizes over the event,

If you fancy your chances there are still a few more places left on the boat, give me a call on 07977 436903,
E-mail:seafishingwhitby@hotmail,co.uk or drop me a message on my FB page Mistress Sea Angling Charters,

8 hour trip Offshore Wrecking off Scarborough

First we traveled to the Northern wrecks off Hayburn wyke

Fishing started really slow this morning with only the odd fish coming up from the wrecks we then decided to work our way south with the wrecks only showing the occasional fish.

The fish were a good size but not many of them at this point, by the end of the trip we found a wreck that really produced well with 6 to 7 rods bending at the same time with some been good braces of cod, in no time the lads started filling up their fish boxes.

The weather was spot on most of the day, but unfortunately a heavy shower came in when the lads were on the fish so it didn't dampen their spirits.

  • 22/06/2015 Fishing Report by TERRY BATT on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)

22 Jun 2015 by TERRY BATT

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

    Hi Guys,
well the weather forecast was as usual very wrong suppose to have been a great week... start of summer??? instead it blew 20 to 30 mph most days..!!.

Monday we went Bass fishing and the wind blew at 30 mph, so we went up river to have ago at the Bass in shallow water, and once anchored in 4 feet of water we got a Bass on the first cast, and several other takes, but the weed was horrendous, so we pushed further up river to the mussel beds to see if it was any better there, well it was marginally better but still very weedy.
so we then went 5 miles East to have a go for Bass outside the shelter of the river on a big sand bar, but no joy there, we had some Skate but not what we was after.

So the boys decided to take on the weed again up river, and they did persevere, but all we got was a heap of schoolies, so not our best hour...

    Tuesday 16thJune
saw Vere's party on the boat, they had a reasonable day with lots of Skate and great banter, but again the weather played it's part .!!!

    Wednesday 17th
June was Engine's service day...!!!! eerrrrr!!! but done now, in readiness for our long off-shore Tope trip the next day..

    Thursday18th June
was forecast to be 4 mph Westerly...Fantastic..!!!!! yay..!!! at last, but no..!!! 28 to 30 mph West North west, but we still went out to the Knock deep, where we found our quarry first fish up was a lovely 40 lbs male, and the tide was running hard as it was a 6 metre tide, but we were up shallow so manageable, we had some good sport with some fish landed, and other ferocious runs of 60 to 70 yard runs and then after a while managed to throw the hook....dam..!! but a great day was had by all, well done Paul nice PB..!!

    Saturday 20th June,
We had a group of individuals, and be had a great day on the Smoothounds, Tom who had never fished for these fish was just blown away with the sheer power of these lovely sport fish..!! ( Photo inset of Tom's first hound)

    Sunday 21st June
once again, the party wanted to go Bass fishing, and got their own bait, Lugworm, & Ragworm , well I don't think I have ever seen bait in such terrible condition, the Lug, when opened was just a big blob of smelly jelly mess, and the Ragworm was all dead and rotting, so it was a good job we had Herring, squid, and hermit crab on board, so we took them Hound fishing for a couple of hours, then at low water they wanted to try fishing for Skate, it was hard at first, as once again the wind was blowing at 27 mph dead Westerly, wind dead against the tide..!! so the boat was swinging about for a while, but once we settled the boys got a nice few Skate, which they were still skinning as I approached Bradwell Marina.... lol, but they all seemed to have enjoyed their day out.

Well that just about wraps things up for last week...! will be back after our next adventure on Vanishing Point-2

    Tight lines............!!!.
