  • 05/2015 Fishing Report by steven macleod on Spitfire (Chatham, Kent)

    May 2015 by steven macleod

    Report on-board Spitfire

Hello to customers old and new .

As some of you are already aware I have been asked by Ken to take over the running of spitfire for the foreseeable future . I was in the process of looking at different boats trying to find something suitable for myself when I was asked . This suits me at the moment and am only to pleased to take the helm and build the business for him for the next few years .
Spitfire is a lovely boat and has had a lot of money spent on her . There is plenty of room on her and she sits lovely at anchor while fishing . With an onboard toilet and oven for your use and cabin heating those cold frosty are made more pleasant .
The fishing of late has been very good and there are plenty of Rays out there smoothounds are starting to show and a few bass have been reported around the Kent coast .
Everything can be supplied . There are rods and reels and buckets of tackle for use .
Give me a call Steve skipper !

    Report on-board JFK TWO

    sat 23rd may
another excellent days fishing, with no wind for a change it was off to the wrecks. first wreck picked up some cod and a few mackerel. cod to about 3lbs.
off to the next wreck BANG all rods bend over into fish, all around 4-6 lbs lovely clean white bellied cods fighting every inch of the way. 3 anglers landing 2 at a time.
around again, same again all rods into fish, all the fish scrapping all the way, fishing hectic just magic.
again all nice fish, eventually moved on, again 6 rods straight into fish. all the wrecks seemed stuffed with lovely plump cod, a few cod nudging 10lbs,we then picked up around 60 mackerel. loaded up the hooks with fresh mackerel and some nice ling and cod now coming in, all the wrecks fished well.
with bamba taking a nice ling of 15lbs. biggest of the day and around 160 nice cod and ling aboard. a lovely days fishing.

  • 23/05/2015 Fishing Report by TERRY BATT on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)

23 May 2015 by TERRY BATT

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

What a day...!! total cock up on the forecast, but we fished through the wind and tide to have a great days fishing.

We had some regulars and to new guys from Hungry, and had never done sea fishing before, and they listened to what we had to tell them, and before you know it they were casting multiplier reels all by them self, and catching Thornback Rays one after the other..... Well done George and Ben..!!

Well with old friends Trevor, George, Ken, Paul, Dave & Andy...!! everyone fished together, and everyone helped each other, it was a terrific day had by all, I lost count toward the end of the day but we must have boated in the region of 50 Skate, with some kept, and lots returned.

Considering it was supposed to be the best day weather wise of the weekend, it sure was chilly in the North East wind....Burrrr..... but as I am writing this report, the sun is shinning, the wind has dropped away, so may be tomorrow will be the day we should have had today..!!!!

Well we will be doing the same for tomorrow and we might have a look for one or two hounds if the weather is right..!!

    Tight Lines................!!

  • 22/05/2015 Fishing Report by Andrew McFarlane on Katie Ann (Weymouth, Dorset)

22 May 2015 by Andrew McFarlane

    Report on-board Katie Ann

On behalf of the Blandford Sea Angling Club, thank you Paul and crewman Richard for making this trip such an enjoyable one.

Although the weather wasn't at its best, with rain falling all morning, all ten members including three first timers voiced their opinion that this was our best fishing trip this year. Not just because everyone caught fish, the reason being that everyone had such a good time. The camaraderie was to say the least fantastic, everyone was helping each other, and the excitement, when "Fish On" was heard, from several people round the boat at the same time was electric.

Fish of the day was a 21lb 10oz Cod followed by a double figure Pollock. Roll on our next club trip on Katie Ann, which is already fully booked with three reserves waiting in the sidelines.

Thank you Paul for putting us on the fish and to Richard for his non stop work throughout the day.

  • 22/05/2015 Fishing Report by LESTER BAKER on Seawatch1 (Brightlingsea, Essex)

22 May 2015 by LESTER BAKER

    Report on-board Seawatch1

Six weeks since my last report and I'm pleased to say the fishing in our area has been fantastic with the codling still with us in numbers until the end of April and so many Thornbacks I have lost count of how many on some days, with the better days producing in excess of seventy rays.Still a few codling being taken in all areas over the last few weeks, but no numbers any more ( All good things have to come to an end eventually)
Today weather was fine so we had a look offshore and ignored the rays, found some codling to six pounds,a few small hounds and best of all approx 30 bass, most of them in the 2 to 3lb bracket but one nice fish of 9lb 8oz,a nice Red Gurnard and of course a few rays(they are everywhere) All in all a great days sport and a good time to be fishing in the Thames Estuary.

  • 21/05/2015 Fishing Report by Nick Gough on Skylark (Scarborough, North Yorkshire)

21 May 2015 by Nick Gough

    Report on-board Skylark

2 Hour Evening trip for the Explorer Scouts from Scarborough

We fished the rough ground just off the castle headland only 10 minute steam from the harbour to maximize there fishing time.

Fishing was slow and steady with the group managing to get a couple of codlings and a good size whiting.

Most of the scouts had a go at handling the boat streaming back home under supervision.

If you have a small group of Scouts or similar party we will try our best to accommodate your needs call 07939015881 to discuss booking a trip.
