Report on-board Duke IV
With spring comes a fresh run of fish, the Skate are all over our area and the Hounds are running, looking for the crab that are peeling right now.
View Boats Page
We have been getting great catches recently on the very popular individuals trips with up to 15 Skate in a day along with Smoothounds, Whiting, Bass and the odd Codling.
Herring remains the most reliable bait for the Skate with crab being best for the Hounds although lugworm remains effective for all species, probably because the best of the fishing has been within 3 miles of land.
The Cod are now moving offshore and will settle on the wrecks feasting on the pouting etc, packing on the weight, we also will be hoping for a good run of Pollack this year, great fighting fish to compliment the Cod.
We will be looking to head offshore now to the wrecks and have space on the 28th May.

Report on-board Mistress
We are experiencing a stint of bad weather here at Whitby .

Its given me chance to to report on our last day at sea, where we easily topped 100 cod again for the 12 lads on board, Of course they never kept all their fish and returned a large quantity for another day.
The Cod were going absolutely bananas for shads of all colours and patterns, common place though the Rhubarb and Custard sidewinders having the edge on the other lures.
The signs are excellent at the minute for a bumper year out of Whitby this year, if you fancy a piece of the action, give me a call on 07977 436 903 or drop me a message on here on my FB page - Mistress Sea Angling Charters

Fishing Report by TERRY BATT
on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)
1 May 2015 by TERRY BATT
Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
Well,.. we were out yesterday, it was not the easiest day we ever had, with the wind once again blowing at 24 mph SW, so wind against a small flood tide. so I opted to go very shallow so we would lay more to wind than tide and drop in 10 feet, really looking for early Bass, as we had 10 packs of Rag worm and Lug worm that a friend of mine left on my boat, (thanks Barry) and no I didn't charge the boys for them, I didn't pay for them, so I was not going to charge my lads, .... so they loaded up with worm baits, and a few small Whiting were biting, but for myself, I was interested to see if there was any Skate up in the shallows, so I baited up with whole Squid, and boy oh boy..!!! I had 4 good size Skate, in 20 minutes so the guys changed their baits and we enjoyed some good shallow water Skate action in comfort.
View Boats Page
Once the tide turned, (around 10.30 am), I went about 4 miles east into deeper water, but we only got one or two, small Skate, so we upped anchor, and moved close in and bang there they were, and now with tide and wind together, we enjoyed a lovely settled afternoons fishing, and the lucky boys had the whole of this massive 51 foot Catamaran (Vanishing Point-2) all to them self's, just three of them plus me and Nicola, what a lovely day we all had.
Not out today, so tomorrow, we will do much of the same I think, and see how the day pans out.
Well I hope you all have a great weekend, whatever professional charter boat you are out on, it is nice to see so many boats busy, it means our sea fishing is in safe hand with all you anglers keeping us all busy.... I am sure I talk for all of us charter Skipper's when I say ...Thank you for supporting our local charter fleet........ Tight Lines..!!!! -

Report on-board Supanova II
Hi All,
View Boats Page
As April winds up it has probably been my most successful April in a very Long time.
Inshore fishing at times has been slow but over the last couple of weeks has really taken off, Plaice numbers have improved along with Turbot and the arrival of the Bream has been great fun.
Wrecking has just been fantastic, superb catches of Pollack with the first of the Cod appearing. What has made it has been probably the best ling fishing experienced from Weymouth for a decade. Great specimens and anglers with a great attitude to say 'let's try something different' when everyones had a couple of Ling.
May will see all of the above improve, especially the Plaice, Bream and Cod and hopefully the arrival of decent numbers of Mackerel.
May see's me busy with Channel islands work, so watch this space for the happenings over there.
Thanks to all that continue to come to Weymouth and make the port what it is. Keep on coming!! The best boats, skippers and overall angling in the UK.
Tight Lines,
Lyle -
