    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

Well lads ,another Spring Festival has come and gone here at Whitby.

The boys on the Shy-Torque enjoying some fantastic sport as ever.

The boys aboard the boat have been enjoying fantastic fishing so far as amounts of fish go and quality of fish too. Bags of up to 30 fish each have been seen regular just recently.

However, the winning fish, which is also a new PB for Marek Pracowity from Leicester and also "WINS" the Spring competition and is a cracker. Duly noted and recorded and just goes to show that whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned angler ,it really depends on who you sail with!
Marek is a complete newcomer to the game!! We give everyone a fair shot and advise one and all to the "top tips of the job" Marek listened and is now quids in!! Yeehaaaaaa!!

We will always try our hearts out to try and find you guys the big prizes on offer here at Whitby.

Over the last 30 plus years working as a charter skipper here at Whitby, we have won more competitions than any other boat here and to notch another win on the board is great!!

The Summer competition will here before we know it. We still have a few days left with room. Have a look at the availability calendar and get your places booked. £5000.00 in cash is on offer again this year and it could be yours!!

Give me a ring anytime between 7am and 8pm to secure you places on Whitby's top charter boat.

    Marek is pictured.

£1050.00 in cash goes to Marek for the win. (Presentation pics to follow)

    Tight lines

    Report on-board Seawatch1

Out on our monthly trip with Lester Friday 24th April, into Roker 5mins after anchoring on the mark, then steady all morning, Lester asked if we wanted to move to locate a few codling maybe, but we opted to stay put, and a blinding day was had by all, only five anglers on the boat which included our fast improving novice Chris, who is rapidly outfishing all of us, no stopping him now he has his own tackle box. In all we had approximately 45 Roker to 131/2 Lbs with about 20% just into double figures in the total, plus numerous dogfish, 50% of Roker returned to fight another day, thanks again Lester for another memorable trip and great company with yourself and the other lads, shame one of them had to pay for the priveledge of not turning out but thats the way it goes, your turn next trip Geoff, see you next month Lester, thanks again.

    Report on-board Cleveland Princess

This report covers 24th and 25th April,Friday and conditions were good enough to get off a bit for Ashley and the boys ive been to this mark a few times over the last few weeks with Andrew and with mixed results the best fish resulting in a 12lb Cod,today started with the fishing a bit on the slow side but came on a bit as the tide started to make we finished the day with a nice selection of fish with 4 Bass/2 Cod/and the best fish of the day was a 14lb1oz Rooker this mark allways throughs up some thin g when you least expect it well done all see you soon.Saturday much the same conditions so it was out on the secret mark again with Antony and his mates fishing was slow again with only 1x5lb Cod showing on the back end of the ebb and a load of Spottys that we didn't want,11.00am came with slack water so we had a move inside abit but more Dogs and a few Whiting then Roger got a good pull down on his rod a 10lb9oz Blond what a great finish to the day well done all see you soon BP.

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

Hi guys, well we had a lovely day today, wind at last went SW 4 to 5 but didn't cause us any trouble..!

We had a slow start at first being plagued with the dreaded Doggies, so much so , that even though I would like to have stayed on the mark, it was impossible to keep the dogfish away from the bait.

So I up stumps and moved 3.5 miles East and got straight into the Codling, and as the tide eased away, the Thornbacks came on thick and fast, the out of the blue, a lovely 6 lbs Bass hit a whole squid and came fighting all the way to the net...

We are off again tomorrow, so we shall see if we can repeat today's superb action, no reason to suppose we cant, and once again the boys were absolutely blown away with our new boat... Cheers Guys...

  • 23/04/2015 Fishing Report by Nick Gough on Skylark (Scarborough, North Yorkshire)

23 Apr 2015 by Nick Gough

    Report on-board Skylark

Best 6 hour fishing trip we have had all year so far, nothing huge caught but plenty of cod about still.
We only had 3 customers today so I managed to have a fish aswell today.

We decided to fish inshore again and we had fish on from the first drop with all four of us bringing fish after fish in every drop. After a few minutes we decided to return all lip hooked fish regardless of size or any other fish that would survive as the fishing was that frantic.

In total we lost count at about a hundred between the four of us with all of us catching 25+ each.

The fish seamed to be going for anything we dropped down including squid mackerel, shads. Feathers etc.we even managed to get plenty of codlings on the very light gear (5g to 35g rods with 8lb braid, great fun on light gear).

Great to see so many cod and Codlings about.

During the last two hours we started getting board of catching just cod so we ventured out to 6 mile and gave the wrecks a try, we had a few nibbles but unfortunately no fish out there as yet, hopefully in a few weeks this will change.

The photo of the fish on the engine box were all the fish which were deeply hooked which unfortunatly wouldn't have had much change of survival.

Great day out with great company with Dave, Steve and Mel.
