Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
Hi everyone, we are thinking of running a woman's angling day on Vanishing Point-2,.. and I will be there purely to get the boat to the fishing mark which My lovely Wife Nicola ( a qualified licensed skipper herself) will pick....!!
Over the years it has to be said when you have ladies on the boat, they are bloody hard to beat..!! we even had a group of women, all great anglers, calling themselves.... The Up-tide Hookers...... they were brilliant.
If we have enough interest, then we will run a ladies day maybe once a week.
Nicola my wife is often seen in various national sea fishing magazines, and Dave Barham who now owns, and runs Boat Fishing Monthly is a great champion of the female angler.
Well there is still a lot of Codling locally, and a lot of Thornback Rays within a short distance, so lots of fishing time.....
Ok guys if you fancy this new idea.... give us a call, Nicola will be waiting...!!! NO DRAG ARTIST PLEASE...lol

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Today was the months biggest spring tide had to work hard today trying to dodge the water, hid up in the bay to start with few doggies coming in and small whiting from the start. As the water eased we tried a little wreck spot inshore which has proved good in the past but was bit slow so tried another bank close by right up to slack. Few dogs again plus small flatty or two so headed down the Roads to pick up the start of the ebb. Wind was bit on strong side so wind against tide things started getting a small lump on. Was expecting the codling to show but not one! Sarah caught our first skate of the season so picture of her here the fish returned for another day, well done Sarah. After few more dogs and whiting decided to move back up the bay to calmer water to catch more of the same. Wasnt a bad day in all shame no cod. Thanks to everyone pitching in and washing down, thanks to Barry and his team of regulars along with Norwich lads Dave,Jason and Daniel, and Lee and Collin much appreciated hope we get the skate on your next booking! All the best,
Jon. (High Flyer)View Boats Page

on Skylark (Scarborough, North Yorkshire)

Report on-board Skylark
Another great day out today fishing on a 6 hour trip inshore.
The angler had a good mix of fish today landing several Pollock around 4 to 8lb and a good amount of Cod around 2 to 4lb as well as a good size dogfish and a few small Coalfish.
It was great to see alot of good size fish been returned to fight another day.
Most of the fish fell for bait but we did manage to catch a few on jellys and shads, so hopefully the water becomes clearer inshore in the next few weeks and we could have some fantastic fishing this summer.

21/4/15 - Absolutely fabulous weather here today at whitby We had a slow start inshore, so upped sticks got he hammers down and we were offshore shadding with in the hour!
We arrived on slack water but managed a few pollock on a ledge we fish regularly, as the tide got away we moved a liitle further offshore to a bit of ground I havent visited for a year or two, so was delighted when we started banging out codlings each drift, these were all 2lb stock so suggested we try somewhere else.
We had a move to a ridge with lots of lumps and bumps on it, each drift saw a good number of fish come aboard,it stayed like this all day pretty much, moving, picking up a few fish and moving and picking.
The 6 of us managed to rake up around 80 codling today on a mixture of shads and bait, the lads returned plenty of fish too.
I really wish I'd got more photos on this cracking day.
We managed joint 1st and 3rd today in the WCSA angling festival daily results

April Report:
It’s nice to be able to write about some good weather happening at Easter for once as the last couple of years haven’t been the best with far too many trips being cancelled. This time around its been high temperatures, low winds and plenty of fish. Flatfish such as plaice and turbot have been great fun over the past few weeks, Finley Palmer won the prize money one Sunday with both the biggest turbot and the biggest plaice of the day. The wrecks are fishing very well at the moment due to the amount of sprat shoals that have arrived this season. Pollock, ling, congers and even the first of the cod are hitting the deck on both lures and live eels which we have been catching on feathers when venturing further to the west. Keen angler Joe Noke showed the more experienced lads how its done recently by landing a 21lb cod whilst others were catching pollock, the biggest cod we have ever had in April. As an added bonus there is an abundance of dolphins around mid-channel feeding on the sprats, we have been treated to some fantastic shows in the calm weather when they are in a playful mood. It’s been the most enjoyable April I can remember so far, now all we are waiting for is the start of the black bream which should hopefully find their way to our baits on Sunday!!

Report on-board Moonstone - now Why Worry!
We managed our first trip out since the refit last week.
The East wind was a bit of a pain at first, but once the tide turned the sea calmed down nicely.
Target was Bream and we managed a few nice ones but they were not there in numbers.
The lads also had the usual suspects with loads of Doggies at one point.
Final catch was a few Garfish to mix things up.
Now hoping that the weather will play ball so we can hunt out some of the bigger Bream that should be with us by now.View Boats Page

Looking good still on the Codling front, reckon we will get another week out of it.
Thornbacks are arriving in ever increasing numbers so this weeks good weather should see some good catches..
