We were originally booked with our regular boat and skipper but due to technical problems he couldn't take us on our preferred date.
Our skipper spoke to Daniel and he kindly accommodated us at short notice.
After a late night the night before we were off at 6:30am.
Dan welcomed us aboard and gave us the low down on the boat and all of the safety equipment before we set off.....being a new boat to us this was very welcome.
We set off and steamed out to a mark about an hour from the harbour.
As soon as the anchor was down Dan sorted us all out with rods and helped us bait up and get fishing....plenty of bait was supplied and we were soon helping ourselves....although Dan was quick to assist when we got in a mess!
The fishing started off slow with a few bream and dogfish coming on board....but as soon as the tide turned we were into a good mix of fish.
We ended up with some nice skate, bream, smoothound and few mackerel for good measure.
A good days fishing had by all and rounded off by Dan helping us to clean the fish up to take home.
Many thanks for a great day out. -

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All ! Just a quick report to let you know what we've been doing lately, which consists mainly of finding good quality fish for hire rod Anglers and Regulars as well ! Please bear in mind that a lot of our fish are caught by people who are on their first ever trip or people with limited Angling experience and yet here on our pages they are holding up decent fish ! We take them, we teach them, we put them on the fish and they catch, simples.......! Not just now and then but consistently, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, almost 15 years I've been doing this job and we're still putting you all 'On The Fish' ! You don't win the SeaAngler Magazine UK Top Skipper Award sat on your arse in the wheelhouse watching TV and eating biscuits ! So weekend 30/31 August was Bmth Airshow and we had hire rod Anglers on the Saturday and the well known local Chef Cornelius Veakins and Photographer Andrew Plant and family and friends on Sunday. Great weekend.....Great Show.....Fish and Friends.....and Mackerel fresh from the Barbie.....superb ! Plus the odd steak sandwich.....does life get any better than this.....! Follow us on Facebook.....'Onamission Charters'.....

Report on-board Rocket
Hi Everyone
View Boats Page
With summer drawing to a close, my thoughts are now turning to winter Cod fishing. It can be a demanding time of year weather wise, but we do have the boat that can handle anything ! . With a shelter deck and heated wheelhouse, hot drinks and 900hp under the bonnet Rocket is worth considering.. You are sure to enjoy a comfortable day, and possibly carry home some decent fish. I have frozen bait in stock, traces tied and productive marks to fish. Rocket fishes the Needles late Oct- mid December then more local grounds off Poole. I need anglers that can fish tide, and have the strength to hold up big fish for a photo.
I hope to see you soon .
Regards Trevor

Well the last couple of months have seen some mixed fishing. Some exceedingly good days and some not so. In general good numbers of bass and hounds have been coming to the boat. Some nice specimen fish boated in amongst them. Plenty of high double figure hounds to 19 lb 9oz and nice bad to mid 7 lb range.
View Boats Page
As for now the bass are still around and the Roker are starting to show in good numbers again. We've seen the first of the codling, which is a good sign for the winter fishing. Weekends from now until January are filling fast so get in quick so as not to be disappointed. There are a few individual spaces up for grabs on various dates from now until November.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Hard Labour
