    Report on-board Sapphire 2 charters

Booked 8 friends, 4 new to boat fishing ,on a four hour evening trip on the Sapphire .
Lovely clear warm evening and a flat sea
First few wrecks quiet ,but loads of mackerel about ,which is still great to catch ,so a fast and furious 30 minutes followed ,then a few fish from other wrecks Cod and Ling, heaviest 6lb if I remember.
The sapphire is a great boat for first timers to try it out, everybody went home with fish so 10 very happy people ,the fish just started to show in numbers ,but alas it was time to head home, but a great evening for fishing ,if you have ever fancied giving boat fishing a try ,give it a go,you will be hooked ,and Peter will have you rolling with laughter ,and he will find you fish ,all in all a cracking evening and the four new people all want to go back out .

Show me another boat who has had this much success in such a short time period and with only 3 channel island trips to date i think Spot On has shown why she is the number one boat in Brixham.

The photos show simply a snap shot of some of the finer fish caught on board Spot On.

remember the ultimate charter boat to cater for your every need and soon we will be targeting the blue sharks and bass along with Bream to name a few, so watch this space.

The new 3 day weymouth trips are now proving poular with 2 dates already confirmed for september.

Please feel free to contact me for any more help or information.

  • 06/2014 Fishing Report by Ross Parham on Spot On! (Brixham, Devon)

    Jun 2014 by Ross Parham

    Report on-board Spot On!

Spot on was over for a 3 day Alderney break for the 9th,10th &11th of June with a great bunch of guys and it has to be said the weather was perfect.

Day 1 saw Spot On hit the mid channel wrecks on the way over produced some great fish which included too many to count double figure Pollock, a few ling and lots of Cod.

Day 2 saw Spot On fishing the banks in search of Turbot and Brill and again what a day with a total of 23 big flatties were bought to the net which consisted of 17 turbot and 5 Brill, the biggst Turbot at 12lb 4oz and the biggest brill at 4lb 5oz.

Day 3 the lads decided they would like to try for some BIG cod so we again left Alderney and headed to the mid channel wrecks with the first wreck producing again lots of monstrous Pollock, we then hit wreck 2 and bingo with all nice cod coming up, then Phil hit into a bigh fish and soon surfaced a 25lb 8oz Cod, another 'Spot On' drift straight after and again another 20lb+ cod for phil at 21lb 4oz, we stayed a bit longer and getting some more double figured cod before our steam home to brixham.

A Big thank you to the lads for returning lots of there flatties and for making the trip again a great success.

Pictured is regular angler Chris Mcleod with his fine turbot and brill, both PB's for him.

Just back from a fantastic carp fishing holiday in France so I thought I'd give you a quick update on the first couple of trips since getting back.Smooth hounds making up the bulk of our catches with fish to fourteen pounds hopefully the bigger females should be putting in an appearance in the near future ,still several rays and bass being caught on most trips. The Mackerel fishing has taken a turn for the worse since the water coloured up a bit after a few days of northerly winds but should improve as the water clears up again. Special summer deals to get you fishing with us on Seawatch at www.seawatchcharters.co.uk

  • 22/06/2014 Fishing Report by Malcolm Collins on Just Mary (Christchurch, Dorset)

22 Jun 2014 by Malcolm Collins

    Report on-board Just Mary

Hi All, another good weekend aboard the 'long distance' 'Just Mary' from Poole fishing with the 'Big Boys' on some nice western marks in glorious sunshine and calm seas, why isn't every weekend like this ! Saturday and Good Bream for Paul and Zak and, sadly for them, a rather depleted Charter crew (last minute letdowns by their mates) but bolstered by my neighbour Paul Green who is a proper Poole bloke having grown up in the town. Good bream to a good 3lb or more, double figure Undulate and a bonus Bass. Paul said. '' .....more than ten species in total.....good job Malc.....'.....We put in the time, the effort and get the rewards, distance no object to find good fish on good tides !
Sunday and ten Singles, some regulars and some through CBUK.....thanks Sam !.....More of the same and more rewards, a double figure Thornback for Kev Gardner, a double figure Undulate for his mate, and a 'Just Mary' regular now, Tom the Brickie, plus more big Bream to 3lb plus and other species like Smoothound, Gurnard, and a Conger amongst others.

Having returned to work now as a Full time Skipper I will be doing local BASS fishing TRIPS, with our own sandeels (when available), plus an assortment of Livebaits and Artificials. These trips will be more than our normal fee at £40 per person and strictly with your OWN tackle only. Those who have been bassing with me before have seen some decent fish and I hope that they see plenty more !

As testament to what we have previously achieved I have included a photo of my old Southampton mate Phil Butt, I have an archive of over 100 photos, this fish was from one of my Inshore marks in Poole Bay.....enjoy.....I'm back .....!
