    Report on-board White Maiden II

The Bream are in! All be it in low numbers at the moment. This is the time when 'pb' potential is at its highest so it's definitely worth a gamble for that 4lb'er! The first inshore Black Bream aboard this season was caught by Bryn Dye on Saturday. That beautifully marked Bream was caught along with the first inshore Pollock by Ian, along with a Bull Huss by Chris, all TOFFS members. There were a couple more Bream and Pollock plus other bits and pieces caught. While on Sunday we had a better day weather wise but we caught about the same with the best Bream so far just under 3lb falling to Alan. A sortie out deep found mainly dogs but also a nice fat female specimen 14lb 8oz Thornback Ray for Steve. Obviously she was released as this is the spawning time for them. Note all Rays and Congers have been released this week again, well done lads!

Thursdays individuals trip was a cracking day weather wise that allowed us to explore. We found Rays and Congers on deep banks but nothing on the wrecks. Wee Man Billy caught and released the best Blonde at 22lb; Roy a nice Blonde of 16lb and the biggest Conger at 36lb; Scott with another nice 16lb Blonde.

  • 13/04/2014 Fishing Report by Nigel Lihou on Optimist (Brixham, Devon)

    Report on-board Optimist

April 13 2014 what a great day flat seas, sunshine and a fantastic day with the chaps from North Wales on the Skerries Bank. Plaice, Plaice and more Plaice with some taken for the pot and many more caught and released. The Skerries was alive with both boats and fish the plaice being taken on a cocktail of prawn, and rag worm tipped off with a sliver of squid. Everyone agreed it was a good days Plaice bashing and certainly one to put in the diary. The photos show some of spotty catches.

    Report on-board TRIO lll

    27th April

    Codtabulous at Hartlepool

    Hi
the famous and the Ali-Cat both got out on Sunday the 27th April and both achieving very similar results as both boats were fishing together
The cod never stopped coming aboard nothing massive mind but the bulk of the cod between 3-4lb lovely for the table with the odd splattering of 6-8lbs
The fish were taking most baits shads and ammo unwashed squid having the edge those using it frequently getting double shots of cod
The water is clearing up now and the shads are working well but the AMMO bait squid and bluey is still pipping the shads for the number of fish caught
so jump aboard to catch your cod .

This can only prove the amount of fish down there.

A great weekends fishing here at Hartlepool

    Report on-board Mistress

The fishing remains good here at Whitby.
As many of you will know we are currently halfway through our WCSA Spring Festival.

The skippers have continued to work their sock off for their crews looking for the big one, and enjoying some excellent sport on shads as the water is beginning to clear.

We have been landing some great fish during the Festival taking a number daily prizes for our anglers yet again on Mistress

Yesterday saw one of our regular anglers, Mike Dearing from Beverley land an absolute beaut of fish.
He took the Daily 1st prize and now leads the event overall, with a 20lb 7 1/2oz Cod which he took whist fishing a 4" bright orange sidewinder shad.

Its still all to play for as we have been seeing some great fish landed each day of the event,
