August 2013 - Brian Martin alias Barry and friends from Hampshire enjoyed a days flatty fishing with some good specimen size Plaice caught along with some Turbot and Brill.Don Gray recorded a grand slam catching Brill,Turbot and Plaice. Mark Butland landed his Personal Best Plaice weighing 6Ib 4oz..The successful baits for the Plaice were ragworm tipped with squid strip or prawn.Poor old Brian had one of those days, breaking a rod and only catching one small Plaice,"never mind Brian Better luck next time".

Sun 25th aug - tide trip first off and not a great number of mackerel about, which was a bit disappointing only a handful tried the same haunts but not a lot going on.... Came back in and picked up our customers for the full day who had had their trip cancelled by another local boat due to "borderline" weather conditions........ (What weather conditions???) anyhow went of to find some tope once on the anchor we got to business with getting rods out for tope and mackerel put the kettle on we landed 6 tope in all and had a lovely day - nice calm seas - great bunch of lads and we were happy to give them a good stag do where others had obviously failed - 40 times more stable eh???

Today we left the Marina knowing it was a chance with the wind, we turned back by the rock channel and gave the lads the option of aborting the trip as we still had time to get back in, but they insisted on fishing the river against our advice as the river fishes best in the winter,, we set about with scratching rigs only to be catching small Tope to about 1 lb by the light house we moved about a bit eventually catching Rays and whiting but no Dabs , The lads had a good day with Les taking the money with a 5lb ray,
