Great Day out 25 miles out in the channel over a large wreck a few locals and visitors on board and a young 6 year old on his first trip We had Cod, Pollack and Whiting coming aboard with the young lad catching his first Pollack of 2lb 5oz. More trips planned.

Ran out to the whisler 14/8 flat calm for the party today as they had not done any boat fishing before anchored a bit south of my mark in 48ft first fish on the boat caught by Alan a nice 8lb Rooker he said it made his arm ache trying to get it in good job we didont have a big tide running plenty of Hounds followed with some good sized fish amongst them only a 4hr trip but they had 8 fish between the party well done and I hope you enjoyed your meal at The Sailors Home Kessingland,i went again in the afternoon what a contrast with the weather we had to fish inside the bank as things were a bit rough to say the least but we still managed to catch a few Hounds for there bbq look forward to seeing you all again soon,Brian.

A nice day at sea with fairly light winds i decide to head south down towards scarborough as the tides are now well on there way down we fished 6 or 7 wrecks some produced well with some cracking cod one man got 2 lovelly fish one 11lb and 10lb another lad also got a nice fish just under 10 lb plus quite a lot around 5- 7lb mark plus plenty of ling thrown in as well the cod fell the shads and ling to bait.

10 Anglers out today big NW swell but not a bad day fishing was on the slow side till later in the day on turn of the tide we started to take cod up to 9lb and ling to 8lb few Pollock lots of pout to around 2lb white fish and mackerel,

Spot On has been out in search of Bass whilst wrecking and the lads were not disappointed with a private hire one day of just 3 anglers taking some nice Bass with the smallest being 6lb's and the biggest taken just over 10lb.
Cod have been a little slow due to the larger tides we have had lately but I am sure we have not seen the last of them yet.
But the first trip of August did through up another 20lb'er so spot on is continuing were July left of averaging a 20lb'er per trip.
The bass have mainly been caught on live baits however we did see the first caught on lures and snagged 3 in one day on lures so things are looking up.

Early August
Early August has fished well so far aboard the Mistress, as we would expect, with us taking double figure fish most days we put to sea.
The mackerel are still here in numbers, giving us plenty of fresh bait for our days at sea.
The shads continue to fish well also.
The lads from Nottingham had a steady day with us over the weekend taking a good few fish into double figures and two wolf fish! we only normally see these prehistoric looking fish on the rare occasion so seeing two in a day was a bit of a surprise!

FLAMER IV FISHY NEWS August 2013 Reef/Bank Trip - Pictured is Trevor Lockyer age 64 from Dorset with the 20Ib 8oz Blonde Ray he caught. The Ray took a mackerel flapper cocktail bait presented on 6/0 hook. The female ray was released alive Trevor also caught a smaller Blonde Ray weighing 10Ib which was also released alive.
On the Same trip Jenny Foley age 62 caught her first and now Personal Best Spotted Ray weighing 5Ib.Jenny also caught an 8Ib Thornback Ray.Some Tope were also caught but a few were also lost to fight another day.

On sunday Andy Parrs team was onboard the forcast was for it blow up mid afternoon but by late morning the lads had allready nailed some lovelly fish Andy got a cod 12lb but it was Andy mate John who took the money with a cracking cod nudgeing 15lb two belting fish and it didnt stop there the lads also ammased quite a few fish cod and ling so they we well over the moon.
