Friday 19th july 2013, 3 anglers booked the boat today for an 8hr trip rough ground done very well until the sea came away with the northerly wind for a couple hrs they took cod from 3lb to 6lb around 30,

This week the weather has been great with a calm sea and some hot sunshine.
There are still some Cod and Pollock around along with some nice Conger showing. The biggest eel this week went to Nick Pelling which weighed 62lb. All the Conger's caught this week have been returned back to sea alive (as is always the case on Ocean Warrior 3). The biggest Bull Huss caught this week was 10lb of which was also returned back to sea alive.
On the inshore fishing marks there have been some nice Black Bream and lots of Plaice still showing.
Looks like the weather is looking good and lets hope it continues for us all to get in some great fishing.

Wednesday evening 18th july 2013, 5 anglers out tonight 2 wrecks some very good fish ling from 9lb to 10lb cod from 6lb to 15lb, cod taken on shads, 10lb taken on shads all in 4hr trip well done lads,

July Has proved to be a great month weather wise and Spot On has been getting out as often as bookings allowed.
Some great fish caught so far this month with still good Cod fishing with lots of 20lb+ fish and still some bigger ones snapping the guys up as they seem to be in really fit shape and hard fighting, Pollock and Ling are still making appearances.
SPOT ON is officially winner of the Dartmouth Pub angler of the year competition which took place on Friday 12th July (Wrecking) with a Cod of 17lb 9oz.
Spot On is now pleased to offer specialised shark trips and with her be longer than most charter boats we can fish 6 rods with ease.
These trips will be 12, 14, 16+ hours.
Best Blue was estimated at around 80lb but unfortunately this was lost at the side of the boat trying to get her in for a pic, the best on the boat was 73lb.
Taking bookings for 2014 on the new boat (hopefully) and channel island interest is heating up so get in early to get your number one choice.

Some improvements in the quantity of fish the last few weeks with the water on the 9 mile and beyond turning a lovely aqua colour ( at last!! )
A regular group on the boat from Barnsley ( Prince of Wales SAC ) dropped on some good cod fishing in the last couple of hours of their trip.
The majority of their fish was taken on the shad and sidewinder, a true sign the water clarity is a lot better than a month back.
The lads are back on the 28th September for a crack at the big one in this years Autumn angling comp.

What a cracking weekend - absolutely loads of smoothounds about plus the odd skate and bonus bass.
Two youngsters had their PB's with hounds and will no doubt be back again .
The weather could not have been better.. if anything it was a bit to hot but I am not complaining.

The grand summer festival has just finished for another year, onboard Mistress we had quite a successful event.
On the leader board at the end of the festival we finished up with 2nd place in the Ladies section and 3rd place in the Haddock section.
But overall, Mistress had more daily wins and more daily prize winners than any other boat in the competition.
We have an autumn competition coming up from the 14th to the 29th September

We recently held a parent and child evening for one of my regular anglers, Mark, who has been asking to do one for a while to get his kids interested in fishing.
He bought along a couple of the regular lads too with their kids. luckily as it turned out it was a lovely summer night.
We picked them up after the festival weigh in and set off to the rock top, the kids were all absolutely buzzing, there was bucket loads of excitement, enthusiasm and energy!
We arrived, the rods had been tackled up, so as we arrived I went round making sure everyone knew how to handle the rods and reels, and within seconds there were mackerel being swung in left right and centre! along with screams of that 5 now, thats 7 now, ive got three now and oh no that one dropped off !
well after three drifts we had filled the boxes suffiently with mackerel, and were now catching and releasing! this was accompnied by sceams of thats 72 now, thats 65 now and oh no thats ones just dropped off!
By 7pm i was feeling a bit run off my feet after being up since 5am, but a couple if the adults and older kids set up a chain gang gutting and washing the mackerel.
by the time we had finished gutting and washing there were only about 3 die hard kids still fishing and we called it a night arriving back for around 745pm
