Report on-board Valkyrie 6/8
Great day on Valkyrie7 with Glen on the wheel. At the first wreck a steady catch rate of Pollack falling to brighter coloured sidewinders and shads. The last of the ebb tide we tried hard for a cod or two but just came up with Pollack 6lb to 10lb. Having had some practice even the less able where catching. Glen then moved us to a small wreck again looking for cod but this wreck was also full of Pollack. With a few fish pushing 12lb it was time to move on again looking for cod. We hoped to find some Mackerel for bait but these were absent the fish were coughing up a mixture of Spratt, Herring and cuttlefish. Conditions became brighter and the lure colours with yellow and orange worked best. Glen tried a third wreck this finally produce 3 cod two too hopping with twin tails and 1 to feathers. There was a bonus bass and a ling. The fish were feeding high in the water up to 60 turns up which was good as with slow retrieve and a bit of care some went back for another day.

We ended up with about 20 fish per rod with 12 fishing. I switched to using 8" lures trying to find a bigger fish and was rewarded with one of 14lb, the best until a 15lb fish surfaced.
Even the weather behaved for a change with the forecast doing as it said the wind decreasing all day.
Valkyrie 7 had plenty of room for 12 and is very dry and stable even at 18knotts. There was a swell and steady chop on the sea but unlike most cats does not lift up in bows but remains level cutting through rather than over the sea. The tea making is good with constant hot water from the water boiler. Highly recommened for a great day out!

Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3
The wrecks still have some Cod and Pollock on the deep water marks. The water temperature is still well down for this time of year, which has affected the fishing a bit. We are hoping that the temperature increases and the water start to clear. There have also been a few Conger just starting to show, which is good.

The Plaice and the Black Bream fishing has been reasonable on the inshore marks along with some nice big Bass. This is Bob Nye with the biggest of the day, it was caught on a squid bait on an inshore mark.
We are looking forward to some settled weather to get out on those deep water wrecks. -

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Forcast today very strong SW winds no choice but to head North using the tides to our advantage ended up off Winterton. Arrived on slack waited for the flood the doggies came on as expected with nice little smoothy thinking we were in for a good day. Unfortunately the heavens opened ,the sky turned pink with lightening, as always turns the fish right off. Had a move further North , went through numerous downpours and with strong gusts all day made conditiions not great. Fair play to all today spirits kept up, had a great sport as tide slackened and i decided to dab bash changing hooks etc, getting the black lug out.Ended up keeping about 40 odd dabs pictured here, countless returned ,had fun all round. Big thanks to everyone from Mildenhall Base,Shannon for organizing the trip much appreciated, Breanna,Cierra,Ian,Joe,Justin,Andy,Matthew, and Steve ,hope you all enjoyed the day despite the weather well done to you all. Look forward to seeing you all again at some point. All the best. Jon.

A rather inclement week on the N.E coast this last week with the crews on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday on the Shy-Torque re-booking their trips for a bit later on in the year.
The fishing however has come on a treat since our last trip away on Tuesday.
Todays crew were some of my old mates from around the Darlington/ Richmond area who are regulars aboard the boat.
I must say that when I saw the last forecast last night I did have my doubts about today, but when Nigel Hall the organiser called and said that he thought we should give it a go I thought well what the hell !! It was after all a S.W.
The morning started fairly jowelly but by 11a.m the wind (as predicted ) was showing signs of decreasing.
We started the day off on the 3 mile ground for just a couple of codling. As the wind eased we moved out towards the 7 mile ground and sat there for the rest of the day. With cod to 10lbs coming aboard why move anywhere else!!
Because we'd had a nice early start ( just after 6a.m ) we decided at 3p.m that we'd caught enough for the day and a nice pint was in order, and returned to the "Endeavour" for a "couple" or 3 !!
Nigel and his crew are back again next Sat for the first day of the Summer angling festival where we'll be looking for that £5000.00 winning fish !!!
Pictured is John Wilson from Hurworth Nr Darlington with the best cod today.

Well what a change, for what seamed ages in the cod catch rate over the past few weeks some people were actually catching cod .
View Boats Page
The day started slow with only a few fish being caught in the morning on rough ground and as the wind started to increase , it was very hard to do any wreck fishing,so we continued to use the marks we had on our plotter to target some good ground that produced a good few cod well into the afternoon.
Most fish caught were from 4.5lb to just over 7lb , but nice fresh cod they were too.
No sign of any mackerel yet on any of the ground we covered today , but if the cod are late , so must be the mackerel .
To sum up it was a good day for most on board today ,with over 20+ cod being caught , and me only catching a single cod,as did the skipper .........................Oh and the skipper Lee catching a extra one ........................a large rock...........hahahaha
